Was listening to SEN this morning and Brett Phillips mentioned that the Blues are keen to get Josh Mahoney as an assistant coach.
Has anyone heard about this?

I had heard that he's accepted a role with Bailey at Melbourne?

Mahoney is still playing (for Glenelg) and trying to break back into the Power finals team - which is highly unlikely. His retirement is from the end of this season. He is apparently highly regarded at Port as a person and a role model for young players.

I can tell you that 2 weeks ago whilst travelling for work, I was in the QANTAS club and walked past Brett Ratten, I stopped and stared. He was with Josh Mahoney. I thought there are two possibilities here, either he wants to draft him or he wants him as an assistant coach. Either way I was perplexed as I never figured Mahoney as coaching material and I thought drafting has beens went out with Mick Martyn.
