Was at the soccer tonight, and in a function, and saw Fevola and a few other players. Now this kid went up to a player I won't name, and said he supported his club (the club was not Carlton) and asked for an autograph. He was brushed aside. Fair enough you might say, except the kid was approximately 7 years old and a quick autograph would not have been too troubling. He then went to Fev, and said he didn't support Carlton but liked Fev and wanted his autograph anyway. Fev must have spent at least 5 minutes talking to the kid, and from what I heard it was about if the kid played little league football and just football in general. He then got the other player to sign an autograph for the kid. I just thought I'd post this because there has been alot of negative stuff on here about Fevola, so I thought why not point out this nice deed that he had done, which had definitely made this kid's night. I don't want to tie this to the trade fev/don't trade Fev debate. I just thought it would highlight that Fev is not just a good footballer, but a good bloke too. |

Oh but Barack, he is petulant and bad for the club and we should trade him for pick 18 and be done with him! ![]() Fev wears his heart on his sleeve and can be prone to displays of emotion but he is a good bloke and I will flowering spew if the club gets rid of him. Onya Fev |

No matter what anyone says about Fev, there is no denying his popularity with the kids, and getting kids to support the club is where it is at. Kids like to see a character out on the field and they get that with him. I am also one who believes that what he does in the media is also quite good for the club. Those idiots who think that he discraces himself and the club when he plays dumb on TFS are a fair bit off the mark. Fev is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but is certainly not stupid! He knows what he is doing. Well done Fev. ![]() |

The media has it's way with Brendan Fevola. Every time you here the name Fevola it's attached with "Indisciplined", "Bad attitude", "Head case", "Sleaze ball", and so on. Not once have they showcased his extroardinary kindness and what a decent bloke he really is. It was actually always Denis Pagan who would remind everyone when Fev's character is being questioned, that he was really a dedicated footballer, someone who appreciated his fans, especially the younger ones. It's too bad the media don't highlight the goodness in him, but rather the bad. This will never change, but at least, any kid who has met him will have a good perception of him no matter what trash is written. |

Or adult ![]() The patience he has and the effort he puts in to spend time with his fans is admirable, he's almost Koutarish when it comes to that. He's a natural person who shows himself to the world, now it's not often you come across a person with so much character that they continue being themselves regardless of their popularity. I reckon he's great. He's just so important to us. |

I think Fev is great with kids because not so deep down inside he is just a really big kid himself. Like most kids his heart is in the right place but he can do stupid things sometimes. Doesn't make him a bad fella. I guess that's why the media are always labelling him an 'enigma'. |

good onya fev to show the time for the younger kids of today. I believe knocking back a young kid a autograph regardless of what profile someone has is pretty sad as kids look upto there peers regardless who they play for or what sport they play for Anyway regardless of wether fev is a badboy or not, and is Fevola as bad as what some of you make him out or what the media have made him out to be... As i would bet alot of us have been pub brawls, or cheated on our loved ones. yeah fevola is in a standing of a public profile and should act acordingly but after all he is only human. Fevola keep up what ya doing signing kids and playing good footy and ya will be right... and nothing wrong in being the bad boy cheers OZ |

I agree refusing to sign an autograph for a kid is pretty piss weak. I think you should name this D#%k Head. |

Name him and shame him and then make sure the 7 year old becomes a Blues member next year. It's that type of arrogance that boils my blood especially in dealing with the kids. Fair enough complaining about DHs who are off their faces and not wanting to deal with them but a 7 year old is disgraceful. |

I sign autographs for kids all the time in my job, I don't see why Fev shold be any different. ![]() Just kidding. From all reports Fev has always been good off the field with supporters, especially the younger ones. Thanks for the story. |

He'd be mad not to trademark that phrase. Brendan "Wears his heart on his sleeve" Fevola. |

Fevola is great for the club..................'off field'! I've always said this after noticing exactly what Barack just mentioned. Fev's great at this. Which is why i so badly want to keep him. Sure, Fev can act like an idiot at times. But geez...........he loves this club and it's players. Remember him standing up for Murphy in the Collingwood game>? We need somebody like that! Idiot he may be, but he's an idiot that.............. 1. attracts fans, especially the younger types. 2. kicks 60+ goals a year in the worst team in the leauge. 3. Stands up for his players when he needs to! Please keep Fev...............he is a true blue carlton player and should be for his entire career! |

It's ok to cheat on your loved ones and to get into pub brawls. But whatever you do, don't decline giving an autograph - that's horrible!!! Most kids don't actually look up to their peers, btw..... (BTW, I love Fev and want us to keep him) |

I was at the same function.. actually sat directly behind Fev in the stand. It was model behaviour from Fev, all round. Arm and finger still all wrapped up fromt he recent surgery. Hmm... I saw about 5-6 other players floating about that room, including; Hird Buckley Nathan Thompson Jess Sinclair Juda... sorry Hamill I think you could probably rule out the top two from the 'did not sign' list. |
