Quote: demolition of the Heatley, Pratt and Gardiner stands.
That sounds more extensive than previous plans? |

If the Pratt Stand (old Hawthorn Stand) goes anyone holding onto that faint hope that we may one day host AFL games back at Princes Park can kiss them goodbye. ![]() |

VFL games with Carlton fielding a standalone team in Carlton jumpers will do me just fine. |

I can't see why Pre-Season matches can't be played at the old suburban ground such as PP, Windy Hill, hell........even old over at Collingwood. I reckon it'd be a great testimate to the history of the game. Whilst on that............i will 'half' thank the AFL for doing something about the state of the Victorian teams home grounds! The state that they are in is a disgrace to the clubs, their supporters, the people of victoria and football in general. I say only 'half' a thank you because it's taken them so long to do something! Quite pathetic realy when you see what comforts interstate teams have! I'd love a rejuvinated PP with a welcoming feel extended out to the community and Carlton fans in general. Here's hoping for a 'supporters' bar somewhere in those plans so on interstate matches i can rock up and have a beer with my fellow carlton mates to watch the game. |

See Synbad, they have scraped Smorgan's plan,.. they'll pull down the stands and replace them with Dick Pratt, I assume standing on a pedestal for all to admire... ![]() Seriously, a community based redevelopment will occur...in what guise just depends on whose in charge and what mates you have...and at this stage are mates are pretty good ![]() |

...and just as sad to see the Gardiner go. I hope to grab a souvenir or two when the demolition occurs. |

The Heatley Stand should not be touched. Essendon* have held onto their stands. Why can't people cherish the history of a football club anymore? Or is the Carlton Football Club just another product like Omo or McDonalds or anything else for that matter. They will say it is "too expensive" to maintain the Heatley Stand what's the bet. Yet they are willing to spend millions to pull down stands and put new ones in. OK the old John Elliott Stand can go, but the Heatley Stand is as Carlton as John Nicholls and Ken Hands. Poor decision... but just like the guernsey we get no opportunity to put our two bobs in. The guernsey was changed without consulting the fans, now we have this anaemic monogram that means nothing to me. The decision has been made already I guess "for the good of the club." |
