Post subject:  Players reported/suspended in 2007

I was thinking about whether I could remember us having any players reported and/or suspended in season 2007 and off the top of my head, and not counting meleé fines, I couldn't think of any of our players having been suspended or even reported in 2007? I am of course not counting Brendon Fevola's club-imposed suspension in this.

So would it be correct to say that no Carlton player was reported/suspended (outside of fines resulting from the meleé against Collingwood) in 2007? If so, would this be a unique sort of achievement?

i remember against adelaide lappin was reported for "attempted tripping" when he was about 10 metres away from the person he was allegedly tripping. the case was thrown out straight away and i can't remember any other reports or suspensions.

I reckon we've had a good record with the tribunal over the last 10 years...after the Williams disgrace they still owe us

The Campo v Holland match-ups were always good value for a few weeks in the past.

That brawl at half-time against the pies earlier this year was probably the worst incident we've had this year.

I think this really shows how soft our team really is.

I wish that a few players got rubbed out for a hip and shoulder that went wrong, at least this would show they were trying to initimidate some opposition.

Maybe, just maybe, it is an indication of sucessful adaptation to the new rule interpretations.

Heaven forbid it be a result of superior technique and mental application.

So if no one gets suspended they're all soft. I'm sure if anyone (Say Fev) had been suspended, we'd be complaining they're undisciplined.

Do you think that there was anything 'superior' about any aspect of our football this year?

P.S the tongue was firmly embedded in the cheek when I made that comment.

Yes, we were easily best at not getting reported.

Players giving "don't argues" to the throat, eye gouging, charging players backing into packs or delivering elbows to the head are soft in my opinion...

Exactly, you can be intimidating without getting rubbed out.

i could have sworn seeing Ryan Houlihan run through an Eagles player also earlier this year...an event as rare as that stays in my memory...maybe it was fair though? maybe he didnt get reported for it? but i sure as hell remember a huge hit on an eagles player in that wet match earlier in the year at Perth.

I think you may be reffering to Houlihan running through Matt Rosa, at Subiaco in 2006.
