Tonight we begin to return from the depths of Black Friday.
PP, 3,18?

Why isn't it PP,3,18,20. Pick 18 as we only won 4 games this year. I know it's double dipping but nice thought aint it!

Anyway Socialism killed the game we loved.
Still hasn't really helped any of the weak Melbourne sides ( those who haven't won a flag in lifetimes) but we earned a gift.

Could someone please send the soacialist republics front man ( RON EVANS) a copy of the draft order for this year. /i know he's dead but you can here that essenscum pig rolling over in his grave.

Blue skies ahead -i hope!!

Never want to feel like i did this eweek ever again
I NOW think it's time to end the PP as that was a joke tonight.

Betts and Scotland - How many possessions?

Oh and why didn't we just farewell
Fitnall
Teague
McLaren
Wiggo
Saddo
Raso

and while I'm rambling

Walks and Russell have value. Russell I'd love as a half forward. Walks I'd like in the Beaumont category " If he played against us he'd kick it to us far more often.

Yep, it has been a blessing in disguise for the so-called capitalist's club!
Andy decimated the mighty CFC only to see it rise from the ashes bigger and better than ever before - partly at the expense of his own measures.

Suck shit Andy you fat flower!

Yeah, I agree a wonderful theory is socialism. In the words of the fat @#$%&! who invented it "Socialism is for those who have nothing and wish to share it with the world"

Not sure why anyone would call this system "socialism". It has nothing in common with socialism.

The AFL controls all the means of production and it has 16 franchises. All the mug punters have been sold a bill of goods: "my team has as much chance as everyone else's, and will rise every 16 years".

Meanwhile, if said mug punter wants to take his wife and 2.4 kids to the footy, it costs around $100 a pop plus another $100 for the privilege of a few beers in plastic cups, a couple of pies, and a chocolate bar.

And this brilliant "socialist" system has delivered us in the past 10 years 2 premierships to Adelaide (a rich club), 3 premierships to Brisbane (a rich club), 1 premiership to Sydney (a rich club), 1 premiership to West Coast (a rich club), 1 premiership to Port Adelaide (a rich club), and 1 premiership to Essendon* (a rich club). Near the beginning of this said 10 years, North Melbourne (a poor club) managed to sneak itself in.

But where is Footscray (the perennial poor club) in all of this? No closer to ultimate success than 10 years ago. And what of Carlton? We all know that we'll be back in premiership contention sooner rather than later!! Why? Because we're Carlton, and @#$%&! the rest!!!! Nothing to do with socialism. We just took a bit longer to understand how the new system works, and what our place in it is. And now that we do, I can tell you, we won't be winning just one flag every 16 years!!!!!!!

See my post in Talking Recruitment where I propose a New system for the draft. It is: let every club pick any young player it wants as long as he wants to go there!!!!!!!

I know, the poor clubs will die. This new system didn't save Fitzroy anyway.

Catered for by the company owned and managed by the previous AFL Chief Commissioner.

Beauty. So rather than call this system "socialism", I'd call it more like Corrupt Consumerist Nepotism.

Yep, great system. The rich get richer and the the poor can go do their own thing...... Maybe even go to the Carlton shop and buy their 2.4 kids a Carlton jumper each. It will only cost you around $300. Good thing Nike is the sponsor, eh?

But hang on. It IS socialism. After all the players have a UNION!!! Shit. The bloody socialists!!!!

Now, now fellas - let's not get all political.
One must remember that socialism is indeed a wonderful theory, but 'tis all it will ever be, just a warm, fuzzy theory.
For socialism to work it must be implemented by human beings and adhered to.
Alas, the human nature does not endear itself to the generosity of sharing, hence socialism always goes down in a big screaming pile of manure........

.....come to think of it - the human being at the helm of the AFL is a big screaming pile of manure (IMHO mods), so in theory there's no reason why it shouldn't work - is there?

Aggh hell - just chill and think about more important things, like who are we going to pick with #1 and #3.

Excesses of either socialism or capitalism are equally evil.

The triumph of Capitalism over socialism has led to excesses that has caused damage that many are yet to perceive.

It would be better for all concerned is our perceptive powers were a little sharper - a great deal of future misery would be avoided if this was the case.

Soon, there will be many capitalists that will come to understand that they have been totally deceived.

The man that borrows heavily in order to pay $400 or $500K for a home - and later tragically and suddenly discovers that the economic fundamentals that led to such a market price to which he has become committed are in fact fatally flawed - then that man will soon come round to the belief that he would have been better off with a little more socialism than exists at present. It will be an excruciatingly painful way to learn this lesson though...

For them, a little more of socialism - especially in relation to the sharing of financial or financial related information that might have tempered the market - would have saved their fortunes...

There are probably a great number of people who will fall into this particular category of tragic ignorance.

Having said that, we have to live and work with the system as it is in the AFL.

I can understand all that, but I'll just have another bourbon and contemplate the pros and cons of trade week.
The imminent decision of who to pick at #1 and #3 are of far greater importance for us long suffering carlton supporters than a sudden reduction in equity!

There is no causal relationship here, but as real world circumstances deteriorate, Carltons fortunes will rise.

Winston churchill might have said what he did, but a lack of socialism is what will damage and ultimately be bad for capitalism.
