With Melbourne's surprise 7 goal win over the Bulldogs, we've moved down to 15th on the ladder :!: :?

So let's pray to God that they win again next week, and subsequently wreck the filth's ladder position*, while at the same time making a loss for themselves in round 22 less desirable.

* While the filth's ladder position won't exactly be wrecked with a Demons' win, it certainly won't improve.

Although I would like a priority pick, I do believe that this wont occur.

I have a feeling that we will win at least one match, possibly 2.

With Melbournes unexpected win and us slipping to second last, this will magnify the hunger of the boys for a win - most likely against he bombers or he demons.

I am perfectly happy to be proved wrong on this though and so be better placed on draft day.

Before 3 qtr time today I dared to dream about Ratts dismissing the tanking talk at his post match conference.
After the final siren, my thoughts then went onto picks 1 and 2, or 1 and 3.
Our best can be brilliant, unfortunately though, we don't produce 4 qtrs of it on a regular basis.
Kruezer/Cotchin?
Kruezer/Palmer?
Kruezer/Judd/Seaby/Charman?

Who knows?
Oh well, ' 08 will bring a good mix of new players one way or another and I can't wait! 8)

With what the ferals showed last night there is a remote possibility we may finish last. The dees showed tonight what they are capable of and I expect will get another win before the year is out. If they play like they did tonight I dont think we will beat them round 22.

The ferals on the other hand can play good footy (albeit spasmodically) and whilst next week will be very tough for them (eagles @ Subi), they have the scum in rd.21 and aints in rd.22.

They could beat the scum and will be up against it against the aints fighting for a top 8 spot (as remote as it is after tonight  ). The ferals need 2 wins so this might keep them at bay. But we wont be climbing above the dees before the years out.

We have the scum, roos and dees to see out the year. we could beat the scum, the roos will be tough and the dees on tonights form might just be too good. is beating the scum twice in a year worth it even for a pro-tanker like me?!!? Probably yes...

Like always, when the boys are on the field of battle I want them to win like all hell and it wont be different next round. So for all my arguing for a strategic play at the PP i'll be hoping they win for those 3 hours on Saturday. Jekyll & Hyde i know but the heart rules when the navy blue runs out onto the 'G

The Demons kicked 19 goals against a backline that is superior to Carlton's, yet got less of the ball than Carlton had against Port today. Melbourne will beat us by about four kicks when they get Bruce, Bate and Mclean back. Melbourne will just have to keep our two main threats in Fev and Fisher to a total of 8 goals between them to beat us in round 22.

The Bombers won't have a problem kicking more than 14 goals with Lucas, Monfries, Lloyd, Lovett, Hird, McVeigh, Welsh and Gumbleton in their best 22.

Do people honestly think our backline can hold those forwards to 14 goals or less? :?

Throw Laycock and Hille into the mix as they push forward on a ground as big as the G and it could get ugly.

We will have picks 1 and 3.

Interesting senario presents itself over last 3 rounds

Blues position is unlikely to change over next 3 rounds we are at 4 wins and history shows that most teams over last 4 years regardless havnt won over the required minimum win standard. Melbourne may or may not present a problem depending on playing next round for Neitz 300th game which no other Demons player has ever achieved and its against the filth
So only other problem game if Blues do not win another game is The Scum but i still think we will loose in a tight contest

Also this would be based on Ratten winning the Blues gig and if he is coach of Blues he will focused on 2008 regardless of what he says or how we are playing during the match.
We have seen we that we have been in winning positions in all 3 games against Saints / Pies and Port.

Prediction based on History says Blues end up 15th on 4 wins and will get the picks 1, 3 and 20 (Ratten knows deep down whats at stake and so do Swan and Iche)

Tigers will most possibly win one more game against Bombers but wont win another game of the year as 2 wins loose them the PP Pick and Wallet will be there in 2008 so he is not trying to get a position to coach in 2008 he will be coach in 2008
The best pick attainable Pick 2 and 2 picks in the high Teens will mean the Tigers will not win more than 3.5 Games

Predication based on History says Tigers will end up 16th Spoon and get picks 2 / 18 and 19

Demons will be a little unknown they clearly dont have a bottom 4 list as shown tonite against the Dogs. They have a good chance to go out of the PP with Neitz 300th game and the main factor for Riley the coach is he most likely wont be coach in 2008 so he is not setting up the list for 2008. In fact for his chance to have any chance of being coach of Demons (Very Slim) will be for him to win all remaing games. Nothing to loose for him except to not get the coaching gig.

Predication Demons to Finish 14th with between 6-7 Wins and be well out of any PP contention. (Based on Beating Pies and Blues) Freo would be a 50/50 proposition.

I reckon the Tigers win is an abiration. They won't win again.

If the Dees win this week, then they'll have more to play for in Rnd 22 (because the PP will no longer be at stake for them). Plus they'll get some momentum heading into Rnd 22. They'll then have more chance of beating the blues.

I agree that Richmond won't win 2 out of their last three...

It took them this long to win these two games!

It looks as though the Essendon* game might be our last danger game so to speak......

then again it may be all over already with just three games to go.....

Lets hope they sign up Ratten this week, god knows he has shown enough in the first three weeks...

Yes, this Demons win makes R22 even more of an impending debacle. Now, neither team can afford to win.

We are definetly giving up a super 1st rd pick, and they will be giving up a second rounder and potentialy a 1st rd pick next year.....

we have more to lose and i think that's how it will pan out.

They will beat the pies!

As I mentioned on another thread, Sheedy has already indicated they are going for youth for the rest of the year. The Blues will win this week. I think we will start as favourites.

Sheedy has been sprouting crap like that for his entire 27 year coaching career. Make no mistake he still thinks his side is a chance of making the finals this bullshit that he is going to play youth is a smoke screen to try and motivate those bone heads he has got playing for them.

Hirdy fletcher and Lloyd will be out to prove Sheeds wrong and bust their arses this week . If Port were hurting on the weekend over that loss to us a few weeks back how on earth are this mob going to be feeling after losing the unlosable game to us earlier this year.

This is no walk up start for Carlton

Melbourne winning on the weekend was a real bummer makes rnd 22 almost impossible to lose now

I disagree. The dees have the filth this week and the form those pretenders are in the dees will probably do them over regardless. Let alone with the added incentive of Neitz’s 300th game on Friday night. They lifted for White. How much do you reckon they’ll lift for Neitz who is a record games holder and legend of the club? They’ll beat the filth I reckon (im tipping them) and with 5 wins under their belt they wont have to consider the implications of a PP and they’ll be keener to keep the winning run towards the end of the year to build ‘momentum’.

The dees with close to the best side and playing reasonably well are too good for our young side and this will prove to be the case round 22. They still have quality cattle on their list
