Did anyone hear the interview this morning with Mark Murphy - usual stuff about taking best tagger given Stevens went down and suggested hardest tagger was rawlings of kangaroos -most physical baker -ling also good Suggested that difficult playing in a side that loses a lot of the time but have a young group which will grow together -standard stuff Enjoying tagging someone the last couple of games -standard stuff What was interesting was that he suggested that Ryan Jackson playing on Harvey of Stkilda had recorded the furtherest GPS Reading for the season for the blues being over 16 kms - does attest to how big his motor is but also how we need our on ballers to get fitter and do more especially to help the defence -like kerr judd cousins et al - I suspect those type of players hit the 16 mark regularly and have several players who have the capacity to do that distance but are in the fortunate position not to necessarily do this every week because they have a vast number of players in the mid-field rotation Murph suggested his best was 14.9 kms Does also attest to the need for a number of our midfield players to have another big preseason and the need to have a number of rotations Does also attest to if possible drafting these type of players to the club |

Strongly agree with all of that. I'm not calling our midfield lazy, but we do fade a lot of the time, and our pressure isn't always great. Harder endurance, middle-distance and interval training is needed. |

Wonder what Aker thinks ![]() Seriously, great to see Jacko putting his best foot forward (pardon the pun) and yes we definately need a hell of a lot more gut running players. Stevo, Carrotts & Murph will be good in this department next year. |

I think Jacko is exactly the type of gut busting runner we have needed in the side for some time. I believe he will become a more permanent fixture from now onand certainly adds another element to our midfield group. Now all I want is another midfielder who can burst away from the pack run forward and kick goals and our midfield will be taking shape. |
