I thought he did alot better than okay.

I love the guy but clangers are still prevalent in his game. He had 7 yesterday. But he is turning out to be a midfield dynamo like most thought he would. I don’t think he will ever iron out his kicking deficiencies but he can learn to adjust this to minimise errors. He is great though and I believe will only improve when we can get our best midfield group together. He is learning and shown that he can handle extra attention too although he hasn’t yet dealt with a hard tag. Probably because opposition coaches are prepared to let him get the ball with the chance that he will turn the ball over. |

I reckon Jackson's role should be to almost run with Carrazzo. Jackson is a much better kick than Carazzo. he will certainly learn how to gather possessions from him and Carrots will be far more damaging if he can use a short option and not kick long. marciblue wrote: I love the guy but clangers are still prevalent in his game. ..don't worry about Carrots, his kicking will be fine once Steven's returns.. ..poor ol' carrots is carrying the big load at the moment, thats alot to ask a 50/60 odd gamer.. ..he runs himself ragged it's no wonder he will on occassion miss a target.. ..our players like carrots and simo are really doing alot of the midfield work often yer more senior players would do, lucky scotland's been so consistent.. ..once stevens comes back with him and scotto being our midfield seniors the other youngsters will really blossom.. ..kudo's also to Ratts for the vast improvement already.. ..carrots and co. will come good, it's been a long hard year for them and they've busted their guts. ..a break and pre-season will see them right.. ..as well as 'the safari'.. |

Here's a radical thought. Carrazzo was our BP dynamo in 2004-5, right? 2 years later he's one of, if not the, best midfielder at the club. Gibbs has played BP most of this year. MY GOD - MAYBE PAGAN WAS ONTO SOMETHING

Although he didn't get the best out of the team collectively, his teachings to a decent portion of the young guys will hold them in good stead for the rest of their careers. |

Its not genius. Ratten himself spent a few years on the half back flank before becoming one of the comps best midfielders. |

I think that's a pretty accurate assessment Josh, he would be at that B+ level, if indeed there is such a level. |

Lets not pretend that he suddenly became a good midfielder because he was wasted in the back pocket for a few games. |

Good point. However, I feel that Carrazzo has been our only consistent player this year. Simmo would be right up there as would Scotland. You could have made a case for Stevo during the early stages of the year, but he succumbed to a season ending injury. Walker, for mine, was fairly consistent during the early stages of the year, but has had a few weeks on and a few weeks off. IMO I feel Carrots should and will win his first John Nicholls Medal in 07. |

As far as I can tell, Carrots is still uncontracted for next year. Are we going to wait until he wins the B&F. Surely not. Does anyone know what is happenning here? . |

This isnt at all clear yet, but many people that have critisized Pagan, will come to realize that despite his obvious failings, there were many good things that he did for our club. However people will only start to understand this after our new team starts to win matches and move up the ladder. Denis had an outdated game plan, was not liked by the players that much and didnt really fit into the Carlton culture, but he did lay many foundations from which Brett Ratten will reap the benefits. |
