Infamy can be a good thing but when the Hun writes that on an Unofficial website 80% of supporters want the Team to tank, I think there are problems.

Possibly too late to remove the poll.

But Maybe Mods need to be aware that bad publicity can do damage to the brand.... More than Pagan v Mitchell Smorgo and Malouf combined

How will you stop the 80% of talk back callers, or the 80% of fans asked the same question outside of the ground each gameday?

The AFL has created a situation where, by any definition, the club would be nuts to win another game. I don't like tanking at all, I think it's a blight on the game and it sucks, I deal with by laughing at how stupid the concept is. But if the system dictates that a draft is in place to recruit players and that the best players go early in the draft, then, the AFL, and us as supporters, have to cop it sweet when the "questions" start flying around.

C'mon, how stupid is it that Richmond supporters are hoping Carlton wins and Carlton supporters are hoping Carlton loses. Carlton did not create the draft and priority pick system.

But all clubs have agreed to it.

After Black Friday 2002 - that flowering flowerhead Demetrispew looked right down the camera and put on his most supercillious and pompous arse voice and preached what key planks the Draft and Salary Cap Systems were to the AFL in maintaining a competition of integrity and fairness.

He also went on to mention how fair the AFL was dealing with Carlton and in fact that the AFL "went easy" on Carlton with respect to penalties for our so called rorting of the salary cap.

Then he and the AFL Commission reamed us again right royally by changing the qualification criteria of the Priority Pick for the 2006 National Draft and consigning us to a very helpful Pick 17 as a Priority Pick despite us having finished on the bottom for 2 years in a row.

I am quite happy for this flowering flowering turdhead to choke on his weetbix for the next 4 weeks as we lose the next 4 games - and front the media and say how important the Draft is to the fairness and integrity of the AFL Competition (with a straight face  remembering all in all what a fantastic talent he has at bending the truth).

Then he can gag on National Draft Day in November and call out Carlton Pick Number 1 and Carlton Pick Number 3 - and hopefully generate the biggest exploding ulcer in his putrificent stomach trying to justify to the media what a fair and equitable system the AFL has in place.

"Spew" go and flower yourself you seeping pile of putrescent turd.

Why isn't anyone pointing there finger at Richmond and Melbourne both those sides were predicted to be above us this year and both have been bloody terrible

If Pagan was still in charge and we were geting belted by 10 plus goals no one would be accusing us of tanking - The fact that Ratten has them playing near ther potential has drawn the attention on us

Richmond and particually Melbourne should be investigated if you ask me

I know this is a Capt Obvious post, but... It's all about the #1 pick, and because this could be the first year the #1 pick goes to a team not winning the wooden spoon the dubious nature of the system has been further highlighted. If we were 16th I doubt the concept would barely rate a mention.

Melbourne were some peoples pick for the flag. How have they escaped scrutiny. Its all about Carlton. People don't want to see us recover, that is all. They are petrified at every advantage we can get. Melbourne could get picks 1, 2 and3 for 3 consecutive years and no-one would care.

Exactly Buzz.I think the system is fair since they changed it to the 2 year spread.Someone has to finish last. Its not as if Rich and Melb are missing out on a PP and they have had more success than us recently.
We have been rubbish for 5 years FGS.
It has been a tribute to the club and supporters that we have survived and now i believe we will flourish.Alot of payback ahead.

Ive said on many occasions that there will be a large amount of good fortune coming Carlton's way - to counterbalance the years of blackness we have endured.

Maybe this good fortune will start with us losing the next 4 games and snaring picks 1 and 3.

It will be picks 1 & 4. Melbourne won't win again until they beat us in Round 22, but they won't beat us by enough to jump over us on percentage.

Collingwood was the worst case of tanking by any team in year's gone past. They deserve the scrutiny over us.

Despite all the whining by all and sundry regarding the priority pick system I heard Demitrispew on SEN tonight say that he was happy with the current system and it will stay in place.

He asked how many clubs that have gained priority picks lately have won a premiership recently

For the first time in my life I agree with him.

If it wasn't Carlton FC in line for one then all bloody hell wouldn't be breaking loose.

Unfortunately Carlton v's Melbourne is an untankable game for us and you would think that this is our last chance to hit the jackpot for some time to come.
