When is someone going to shut this penis-head up once and for all??? Today on the Sunday Footy Show he again goes ranting and raving when the boys talked about how we've changed our style of game and are getting much better results. "How was this any different to two months ago when they were kicking 20+ goals every week and Pagan being praised for his attacking style...they still gave up 18 goals yesterday...blah blah blah blah blah" Because when we were just bombing it long to the hotspot the opposition figured us out you @#$%&! clown! Seriously, even though this guy has nothing to do with our football club, he's a cancer upon it, and someone needs to step in and get him to shut his mouth about things he clearly has no comprehension of. |

I remember when he was considered the answer to our prayers as an assistant coach. |

He's protecting his mate, a guy he respects and looks up to. It's hardly surprising. |

Carey doesn't watch football, he's just defending a bloke he has plenty of time for. We watch Carlton and we can see players no longer hitting up Fev 3 out from 50m and we can see JR playing as a lead up fwd flank. I'm sick of the constant defending of Pagan. He ran this club into the ground, and the players putting the effort in now is not a mark against their character it's a reflection of the coach. Don't get me started on the back-patting given to Pagan for his honourable exit, fancy a guy not lambasting the club who's tipping 800 large into his pocket over the next 18 months... what a trooper. |

There's a difference between sticking up for a mate, and refusing to accept facts. He's not just stood up for Pagan, but has consistently bagged the players on our list and at every opportunity goes on about how shit he thinks they are. That's not sticking up for your mate, that's just being a dick. All he sees is his glory days where his mate would tell all of his teammates to kick it to him at every opportunity and then the rest would just fall into place. He sees a man who turned him from being a very talented player into a footballing deity, and thus refuses to acknowledge that the gameplan that made him such a star is outdated and the man who put it in place is out of touch. Does he actually watch our games, or does he just read the write-ups in the paper the next day?? |

i do agree to a point. carey has gone from being a pretty reasonable judge of where were at to a pretty over the top one. this has obviously stemmed from the sacking of pagan. plenty of people have noticed it, which is good in the sense that it marginalises (sp?) his opinion as spite, so if he keeps on going he'll only keep showing himself up as a bit of a goose. we all know and can see the improvements weve made in just 2 short weeks, if he cant see them, or rather doesnt want to, all power to him. the fact is most can. and that the people who most matter (the players and fans/members) have been thankful for the change. |

A guy who could bury Carey and his mates if he ever opens up in the press or writes a tell all book..... |

Sorry to go off-topic, but no, I don't agree. The players are supposed to be professional footballers, paid a lot of money to play footy. For them to have a "go slow" because they don't like the coach is poor form, and disrespectful to their Club, and more than that, to their supporters who pay a lot of money year after year to watch our players play to win every match. Back on topic...Carey's a knob-end. He probably hasn't watched our guys play beyond what's shown on Sports Tonight, which means he has no knowledge of how much improvement we've made, and how much we still have left in us. Who gives a crap what he says? |

Ask Carey why Pagan isn't being considered for any other position open if he is "THAT GOOD"? |

Carey is an idiot and has no idea of what he is talking about. I'm actually having a laugh listening to his idiotic comments now. Won't be long before they can him. There are so many more balanced and really informative and switched on commentators out there. His days are numbered. Was a jerk on the field and is a bigger jerkoff off the field. |

I agree to an extent, and up until this year I was a big advocate for the "cattle" theory. However, the longer things went on with Pagan, the lack of flexibility in both our gameplan and in policy, it was clear that the confidence of the players was being eaten away as the weeks went on. What happened against Hawthorn, Freo and Brisbane was unforgiveable from the players, make no mistake. But I do believe that their confidence was threadbare during this period and there was no guidance. I feel that what happened in those weeks was a combination of players not giving their all, and a coach that had sucked the light out of them in many ways. |

Agree with this. I certainly think it was way past time that Pagan went, but the blame for some of the performances over the last month or 2 should sit heavily on the shoulders of the players, as much, or more so, than on Pagan's. |

Agreed, and I think Ratts made that very clear to the players. After the Aints game he said that what he wants is effort, and players know if they don't put in the effort they won't play, simple. Exactly what they needed after the Gabba debacle. |

Absolutely, he is the true definition of a sports-jock. His currency will only last so long and I've never really thought he actually added any value to any of the media work he has been involved in. |

He has only half the wit needed to be entertaining so he tries to compensate by being boorish and outrageous - gee I just described Drain Russell as well. They might just have a brain between them. |
