http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/st ... public_rss "More Blue blood to shed Eight days after the Blues and coach Denis Pagan parted company, 34-year-old former captain Anthony Koutoufides announced his retirement yesterday. He will be followed out the door in the coming weeks by captain Lance Whitnall, 30-year-old Matthew Lappin, and probably erratic full-forward Brendan Fevola. " |

Interesting article Looks like Kouta was shown the door Looks like Lappin. Whitnall and Fevola as well Good news in my view Fevola is the interesting one. Hopefully a deal can be done to get a first rounder and a decent ruckman to prop us up whilst jacobs, Aisake and Hampson develop. |

The continual reference to Danny Frawley sends shivers up my spine. Anyone who has listened to him should realise he is a muppet who changes his opinions like his underwear. Surely a failed Richmond coach cant be the much discussed mentor? ![]() |

Crikey, does that pass for journalism nowadays? Since when did it become ok to guess and call that guess fact? |

Nice touch, especially since 43 would be definitely due to be retired for a year normally! Qualifies all the press going around noting what a decent player / bloke Kouta has been while at the club. Rich |

Well, if the Skinny and Whitnall theories are true, then that's another big thank you to those two guys. Whitnall was pretty good last year, but ultimately just not cut out for the modern game. Lappin, as thin as a rake has no right to have played 250 games of AFL footy. What he has been able to achieve with his frame is remarkable. Thanks lads. |

If there is even a skerrit of truth to the Denham story, he would splattered Exclusive all over it. He is casting the net nice and wide on some probables, that we on this site, have discussed to death and if one or two come off, then he is genius who has the inside scoop at Carlton - ![]() |

Surely a failed Richmond coach cant be the much discussed mentor? ![]() Danny Frawley is #1 on my hate list at the moment after giving an injured Kouta 2votes for 'worst on ground' last weekend. This fat spud-headed tool better not take one step inside my football club. I'd prefer somebody with intelligence, footy smarts and a winning mentaility rather than Danny Frawley............who is CLEARLY a Knob! Does everybody forget how much he bagged the media and treated them like crap when he was a coach................then he gets the sack (for the simple reason of being, well....CRAP!) and what does he do?????? - Gets a job with the bloody media! Hypocrite, useless, and.............once again...............a complete Knob! *sorry, i'm still really quite emmotional about Kouta's retirement* |

i don't want Frawley anywhere near our club, he is a tossa for sure, didn't do anything as a coach at Richmond so what would he bring to the table ?? - imo nothing, surely there are better options & qualified people out there than this guy !! |

I think they have to get something pretty good for Fev to trade him.. but the other 2 are gone. |

I know how you guys hate rumours, but my most reliable source is telling me that a) Voss is virtually a done deal and 2) he'll be bringing Wayne Brittain along for the ride. To be honest, despite his history at Carlton, I'd be happier with Brittain than Frawley, especially after Kouta sited Brittain as a major influence! Rich |

Brittain related well to the players and with Voss's alleged toughness could be a good combination. I know some posters don't rate Parko but he was an excellent thinker and he spoke very highly of Brittain. Kouta also gives him a strong endorsement as well in the article. All conjecture yet but I hope the decision is done before the end of this season. |

Given Voss comments recently about Fev and how "KPPs don't grow on trees" if he gets the gig you would think that he would be VERY reluctant to get rid of Fev. Would have to be a super deal to be considered IMO. Lappin and Whitnall should be no brainers for retiring though. |

I agree. Trading Fev depends on the deal & it is his age more than his behaviour that drives our willingness to trade him. If we got a top 10 and a top 20 pick or a a top 10 and a good player sub 24yo, we should do the deal, otherwise we should keep him. He has not played that badly this year. He played through injury after the north game and was one of our better players in the loss to hawthorn. His Freo game was a shocker but that is about it. The guy has kicked 133 goals in his last 37 games. That is a goal average of 3.6 per game. |

Nothing less then a top 5 draft pick for Fev and a player. For Lance pick him this week on the basis that it’s his farewell game likewise for Lappin. Then lets get on with the serious business of playing young kids and bringing in a new era. |

Ahhhh.. so the article was written by Greg Denham hey. To put things into perpective, this is the bozo who, not 10 mins after Sheedy's sacking had been announced on SEN (yet before the press conference), was Bartlett's show spouting the "fact" that Richmond had already made overtures to Sheedy about the possibility of coaching there next year. Fair dinkum, what an absolute buffoon. This moron has zero respect and even less accountability for his bile. Probably why he works for The Aussie. Piss off Denham and Smith. Gutter and uninformed jounalism might work for some of the flower that read The Canberra Times (The Australian) but even the most rednecked reader of The Argus or The Bostonian can see through this sort of tripe as a desperate effort to make a small reputation as a hard-hitting jounalist. Only comes across as being a hard-hitting KNOBHEAD! |
