I haven't seen the game yet, but I've been impressed so far by his press conferences so I think he's going pretty well. |

Well Ratts loves Carlton and i sense that what u see with Ratts is what u get...and i am sure that the players are warming to him also....a full circle one would think now that Denis has gone...Ratts could be very much so in the Clarkson mould....well respected, no fuss kinda bloke.... All this talk of Voss might not be even needed...we already have our man!... Go Ratts Go Blues |

Went ok and I think he showed he can do the job but I think the club want a high profile name and want to say that Michael Voss chose Carlton and get some credit for landing the biggest fish....its as much about image as anything and while Ratten is a good operator he cant match the hype and icon status that Voss has...... Interesting to see Voss backing off on " before the game tonight"....much more laid back and admitting he had opened his mouth a bit too much, and no talk of the team he said he had in place on footy classified. He looked happy with himself.......he has the job IMHO and Ratten is auditioning for other jobs... |

It is the 120 minutes on the field one would think which counts most...A winning Carlton side led by a favourite son would surely please most supporters.... |

I suspect Denis, if he caught the game, would have felt like he was watching someone else dance with his sister... |

Ratts did well today, but this was his honeymoon game. The big test comes next week against the filth who were smased by 93pts ![]() |

It was good to see the players using the ball and looking for options . The saints flooded back if we still had denis in charge we would have bombed it in and watched it rebound over their heads . Players were holding on to the ball and not as willing to turn it over, For a team that has been playing 100% opposite to this for the last 5 years - they did OK Not bad for 5 days and if they would have had another key forward either Kennedy - whitnal ot Hartlett or even Waite up forward they would have won today easily |

pretty happy with ratts. still not convinsed about Voss. Voss to come in as adevelopment/assistant type role with Ratts as Head Coach, sounds beyond awesome to me. but pretty happy with ratts, i dont thinks his knowledge of the game nor his workrate was ever in question, the only question mark on him i would have thought would have been his ability to handle the media, as a coach these days is more than just a coach, they essentially become the person who interacts and trumpets the club the most. so far i think he has done ever so well with the media side of things. we could do alot worse than Ratts as head coach. Some reports suggest that he has the job at Melbourne, if he doesnt get the gig at Carlton. |

![]() Have them coach every second week. That way each coach gets two weeks to prepare for a particular opposition instead of one. ![]() |

He looked happy with himself.......he has the job IMHO and Ratten is auditioning for other jobs... The last time we landed a big fish we landed Pagan and Pagan was clearly the wrong choice for the job. Sorry, but I don't want another big fish. At half time on Channel 10 Voss said that he was not sure if he had the "fire in the belly" to coach. Well if he doesn't have the "fire in the belly" then he is the wrong person for the job. You can't manufacture that. I also don't like Voss's clear penchant for lying and innuendo. It is a demonstration of his arrogance. On Footy Classified Voss a few months ago said that he had the team together and was ready to coach next year. Now he is saying that he doesn't. When are we ever going to believe him? Voss's display shows a lack of integrity and leadership. Voss has to earn his stripes and learn the caper. He knows next to nothing about coaching. Let him go out and be an assistant for a couple of years and then I will consider him, not before. Picking Voss as coach next year would be a recipe for disaster. Ratten on the other hand is intelligent, under-stated, experienced, well-liked and passionate about Carlton. He is the right man to coach us next year and beyond. |

A wink of hope .. we still won't win any more games this year (well, maybe we'll find something against the Ds in R22) but the thrashings are done ... |

Ratts has done nothing but impress in any coaching role he's had so far. Talks well, inspires the players, knows the game, great previous CARLTON player (not just "supporter")....and he'd be a lot cheaper than Hollywood Voss. |
