Hi Guys,

Database Management is deplorable at the club currently with a wide variety of applications being used for membership, sponsors etc.

Will the new system be completed in time for next season, including the most critical component being a membership portal for renewals, news, videos etc?

Re the club song:

Seeing 'We like to send US' is the official line, will the club be changing the version which is played both before and after (i.e. when we win) games, which clearly has 'We like to send UP' as the line?

Thanks,

bluedog.

Appreciate you boys giving time for this. Unfortunately I was unable to put forward a question - would be good to know if we have any metrics on our brand v. our competitors (both nationally and Victoria) and what age bracket we appeal to. Also, it appears Greg Swann is setting some meaty KPI's for the club?

Thanks Guys.

I'd like to ask....

Question 20 (New Appointment) was answered with "more to come" - What areas/roles do they include?

How is our relationship with the AFL? It was described by Graham smorgon as
“Professional but frosty.â€

Free To Air coverage- what is or can the club do to improve our FTA coverage.

Many supporters believe that our poor onfield performances are the main factor in our 'poor' FTA coverage.

Can you pls provide some insight on how the FTA coveage is decided?
what are the factors involved in the decisions?

VERY disappointed that my question wasn't presented to the board and was incorporated as an addendum to another question, ensuring that what i was actually asking the board members to give their perspective on was not addressed...

there was talk about potentially utilising more professional volunteers including some of those on this forum. Has there been any in roads in relation to this, and if so can you describe some?

re Q.31 (Auskick, school involvement etc.)

As an AFL School Ambassador (working as a primary school teacher in Brisbane), I have received polo shirts displaying 'AFL School Ambassador', together with the Brisbane Lions emblem.

While proud to be an ambassador, I will not promote the Lions.

Any chance of a Carlton School Ambassador shirt? Do these exist in Victoria?

Thanks again.

The board have direction and are now forming a base of strength off the field.

But on the field, there must be some key performance indicators that you have set in place or are governed by.

So effectively, where would you see the on field development/improvement of the Carlton Football club at the end of the 2008 season?

I was quite surprised that the previous board chose not to make a stand regarding the changes to PP in the 2006 season. Had the 2 year rule for qualificaion for a PP prior the start of the first round included the 2005 season we would have had picks 1 and 2 rather than 1 and 17. Conventional wisdom would suggest a significant difference between a player drafted at pick 2 and one at pick 17. I doubt any other club in the AFL would have accepted a rule change that had such a specific and adverse effect on our clubs drafting (particularly collingwood/Essendon*). To my mind there can be no justification for excluding the 2005 season results from the 2 year qualification period (aside from 'tanking'). Our results this season clearly demonstrate that our on field performance/list was poor enough to warrant the earlier PP.

Has the new board looked into the possibility of trying to lobby for the AFL (or legal challenge) for some form of compensation due to the unfair rule changes?

One simple question - if Gibbs played next to no games in the backpocket in the SANFL and we have a weakness in the midfield in terms of rotations - why the hell is Bryce Gibbs playing the back pocket?

I find Pagan's selection choices bizarre. Is there some logic to his decisions?

I think you'll get a no comment reply on that one.

Specfic football questions won't be answered mate. Even a football director would be loathe to answer that one.

As with all clubs I suspect, there are far more supporters than actual members.

What do you see as 'good value' membership, particularly for interstate members? Or do you simply take the view that interstate members will be happy to give a donation?

Also on the fundraising theme, who is responsible for the design/production of Carlton merchandise? Many supporters I believe think the range and quality of design is inadequate.
