That Andrew Lovett played a few reserves games for Carlton about 3-4 years ago. Had limited game time, blistering speed and great goal sense.
He was told he was too skinny for AFL and would not make it.

Yes i remember him. Gee, is that him now!!!! I guess the old regime was into trading draft picks for 'has beens' back then

Gee, i wasnt sure if it were him. There are so many Lovetts. The problem with Carlton is we have always valued the blue collar workers like Fletcher and Hulme more than the skilful flashy types. thank goodness for Denis and Eddie. One more would be good too.. I mean of the mercurial ones. They do get hurt going back usually. But geez they break things up going forward. |
