Anyone else listen to the show last night on SEN? Apart from engaging is his normal hyperbole about Pagan and how he has lost the respect of everyone at Carlton they also went the hack on Silvagni claiming he is one of those chiefly responsible for the the salary cap dramas, loves the $$$ and has not given anything back to the club and that he is basically not welcome at Carlton. Big calls! |

I heard it on the midnight to dawn show as well. He had a couple of people call in and support his views. |

I've heard people round the traps bagging SOS for being a snitch too.. saying that he sang like a canary when the AFL came calling, whereas Fraser Brown is respect by all around the Club because he gave the AFL the big finger when they came calling to him... |

He did squeal a little, but so did Braddles. All is forgiven...he doesnt need to fall on Elliotts sword. |

As you should all recall Silvagni was elected to the Carlton Board (via the Carlton One ticket) immediately prior to the November Black Friday "investigation" by the AFL. He co-operated fully with the "vigorous" investigation by Ken Wood ![]() ![]() But on the other issues mentioned about SOS off-field association with the Carlton Football Club - I have heard the same said of him. For most people who hero worship SOS's on field exploits for the Carlton Football Club (and I do) I wouldn't dig too deep - as you might not like what you find - channel the end of the original "Planet of the Apes" movie with Charlton Heston and you will know what I mean, when you know about how most staff of the Carlton Football Club feel about SOS and his standing around the club. ![]() |

Word on this forum last year was that blokes like Williams, Ratten, Sticks, and Fraser Brown had little regard for SOS. Wasn't there reportedly a fair bit of teeth gnashing from some quarters when he was mentioned as a potential Assistant? Whether it is true or not is beyond the networks that I possess... but others on here may be in a better position to elaborate. |

Just checking because Heston means "shit himself" in Greek so you cant be too careful. |

Which is why "Charlton Heston" goes by the name "Charlton Weston" in Greece. |

Whether it is true or not is beyond the networks that I possess... but others on here may be in a better position to elaborate. This type of conjecture does no one any good. The facts of Silvagn's onfield contribution to the club should far outweigh what happened in 2002. Think 1999 preliminary final, Think 1995 finals series Think 1990 season Think 1987 grand final Think 1987 2nd semi and once you start thinking you soon forget all the other stuff outside footy. Onya SOS. A true blueheart. |

Well, when they stayed at the Country Club Inn in Moama Silvagni's room was left absolutely trashed, there were some unsavoury things left for the cleaners too. I'm not sure who shared with him this night so he may not have been responsible for the mess... I can't say I ever liked him as a man... as a teenager he really disappointed me.....back in the 90's he was the hardest to get an autograph from and would make sure he didn't make eye contact with any of the fans when going to and from training, it got to the point that I wouldn't even bother and kinda forgot that he existed ![]() The opposite can be said of Sticks, Harry, Kouta, Hanna, Dean, Ratten, Ang, Brown, Manton and the like ![]() |

You just need to read his book to see what he thinks of himself, great player but to me his post career involvement with the club disapoints me too much. |

I only eveer asked SOS for an autograph once and had no troubles, despite the fact he looked absolutely knackered coming off the training track. If SOS isn't welcome at the club because he cooperated in the salary cap investigations, then Braddles would't be either. Oooops, there goes that theory ![]() |
