i wonder how bryce gibbs father feels after knowing his 18 year son had to take an injection to get him back on the ground. Player welfare at carlton is not a high priority.

Can someone please explain why Walker was played today when he was obviously not 100%. And why we gave a kid of 18 a pain-killing injection to get him back on the ground when he will be playing for the next 10 years. Great article by Sheahan in todays HS. Hit the nail on the head. My God, what were the ENTIRE match committee thinking. Just a disgrace |

After the game both Murph and Gibbs had party bags of ice strapped to their ankles. |

Totally agree - disgraceful to give Gibbs an injection in only his 14th game [not counting NAB]. If I was his mother, I would be stormin' MC Hammer and screming the house down. If Tex was still injured why the flower would you even contemplate rushing him back? Is DP that desperate to get his win tally up, that he will risk the players? |

Totally aggree...................... Would much rather the likes of Teauge come in for an injured Gibbs rather than see Gibbs do enough damage to keep him out for a good period of time. If they ain't fit, dont play em................it's not rocket science! |

To those in the know - who makes the decision about a pian killing injection - doctor obviously, but in conslutation with the coach or someone else? on Walker - I thought it was a four week injury. He certainly wasn't 100%. My recollection was that the player had to say i'm ready and then there was a fitness test. has that changed? |

We are all saying, "Play the kids to gain experience". Looks like Gibbs has experienced all apsects of the game which also includes pain killer injections!!!!!!!. |

He was ready, and there would be no excuses from him. I must say some of Pagan's moves had me  again, but what's new here. I'm glad I'm not the only one however.
He just doesn't trust or believe in the kids enough, ie. Kennedy should have spent the whole match forward/ruck and not pine. Hartlett should have spent the whole game back or forward and not up and down like a yo-yo. Waite ... well enough said.

Without knowing exactly what happened, I'm sure that the doc gave the ankle an all clear before giving him the injection. Blokes roll their ankles all the time in this caper and come back on to play. Could have clipped a nerve, but the body being a fickle thing, his ankle could have been giving way in response to the pain, ie. there could have been no significant damage. |

Hasn't the club learned anything from the Adrian Whitehead experience? 3AW were saying the club denied any injection to Gibbs but rather the kid just sucked it up and went back on without any pain killer. then again this comes from a club that has a coach telling us to be patient... I think he used that press conference about five years ago... |

I was sitting pretty much directly behind the bench for most of the second quarter, and Gibbs spent at least 15 mintues running up and down the boundary line, doing knee raises etc. Seemed to me more like a restrap and him keeping it warm, but I'm no medic. I hope to God they didn't give him an injection, that's ridiculous at this point of his career (and our season). And don't get me started on some of the moves being made yesterday. |
