Suggesting 11 of their best players not playing this weekend -we have a few out ourselves- whitnall fev stevens cloke to name a few -and not sure whether it is correct but Setanta is said in the Australian to have done a hamstring and wont play
Need to do a bit of spinning ourselves talk up Grigg -Simpson as captain-hopefully jacobs in if Setanta out - need a bit for the supporters this week

In their current form, probably 2 of our injured players would get a game with Melbourne.
Half a dozen of their injured players would probably walk into our side.

We have no excuses.

You can't win with that attitude. When you make excuses before the game, you admit you can't win or in melbourne's case, don't want to.
It will be a battle of who wants it less

Not making excuses and this is a winnable game -said that on other posts -but after the last few weeks we need to talk up the positives -ie new blood new full forward new captain etc
Take your point BV -but surely stevens fev and setanta on any benchmark would make the demons side - and still not convinced Melbourne are tremendously talented when holland gets a game -so does bizzel and so does godfrey -on that basis whitnall if fully fit would get into that side - thats why I THINK Daniher has done such a good job with them over the years
Apart from Neitz and johnston -who I WOULD ARGUE ARENT AS GOOD AS FEV AND Stevens -who else that is really good that is out

If both teams were full strength Frank, I believe Stevens and Fev would walk in to their side. Setanta wouldnt and Whitnall cant even get a game with us.

Neitz would walk into our side.

Daniel Bell has been excellent and would be a walk up start.

Matthew Whelan would be one of the best back pockets in the AFL. Something we are crying out for.

Rivers would be a walk up start.

Clint Bartram (as much as he is maligned by some) would take JRs spot at the moment.

Brad Green. I know some call him soft but he would walk in to out side.

Travis Johnstone. Enough said.

I do agree that we need to talk up our positives. It would be great to see Grigg get a game this week etc.
Unfortunately we have a habit of having a crap on our front door step before we invite people in.
Its become par for the course over the past 5 years.

Agree all those stated would get a game for us but the only 2 guns are johston and Neitz
Bell whelan rivers all good ordinary players -green has never lived up to potential - they have a better list no doubt but it isnt great
Given our list is not as good and given its deficiencies cloke and setanta are big losses to our team -moreover given the state of our list having not available our 2 A GRADE players hurts us even more
Having said all that I think we will win on Sunday and hopefully our kids bring us across the line

Disagree. This is one of the few games this year I've thought before hand we would win. As good as that would be, it would blow the PP, and I'd love to have that in my back pocket come draft time.
