Going on Bullants form today and the fact there will be some tired senior players after two road trips, we might see something like:

INS: Betts, Simpson, McGrath, Scotland.
OUTS: Fev(susp.), Stevo(susp.), Bowyer, Davies.

I agree, though maybe Morrell or Bannister instead of Simpson

after watching preston 2day i'd promote o'halprin (if possible) for sure.
taking contested marks and always gives 150%.

so my changes

Carlos, Eddie, Scotland
Davies, Fev (suspended), no fricken idea

I was disappointed Betts wasn't in the team yesterday, as he adds another dimension to our forward line.

So Eddie to come in, to mop up and assist, and make some great tackles to lock the ball in.

Medhurst killed us like he usually does, and don't want a repeat of that, so
Bannister to stick to Williams and drive the ball through the centre.

Bowyer and Norman for the Ants.

Scotland's got to earn his spot, but in the unlikely event Stevo gets a week, then he is the obvious replacement.

If Fev gets busted, maybe Bryan can come in, relieve Barney in the ruck, and rest in the forward pocket, with DeLuca at CHF and Whits in the square?

can people please get the idea of putting Carlos in the seniors out of their mind. We need an LTI just to elevate him off the rookie list before we can consider him for the Blues. And IIRC there are no LTI's at present.

Having said that, I think he is the pack-marking (or contesting) player we need in our forward line to compliment the long bombing game style that Denis refuses to waver from and which is not working with Fev and Lance in the forward line.

Ins: Betts, Simpson
Outs: Bowyer, Sporn (please Denis, please!!)

OUT: Fevola(susp), Norman, Bowyer, Davies.
IN: Betts, Morrell, McGrath, Scotland/Simpson.

Forward line of:

Betts, Deluca, Longmuir
Waite, Whits, Chambers

Thats still a good forward line capable of kicking a dozen goals between them.

What marci said about Setanta...
We need someone to get injured. (No, im not praying for it)
Setanta is on track for next year but will come in if theres a LTI now...
In my opinion we should have promoted him at the start of the season. He isnt the finished article and lacks polish but he does things others arent prepared to do and gives us what we dont have..

LTI's are subjective.
Hartlett could be an LTI.
Livo if we are desperate enough or someone could suddenly develop a nasty case of OP.

If Denis wants Carlos enough, he'll get him.
We are desperate for a target at CHF.
Lance is in trouble imo. He's leading wide and if the ball hits the deck, its all over.
I suspect Denis is losing patience.
If the irishman puts in another big one, the pressure will be on.
Go Carlos!

Time to put Simmo on a wing to run the lines. Scotland is an automatic inclusion for Chambers, and Betts for Fevola to play around Whitnalls feet in the goalsquare.

LTI rules aside, I'd really like to see a forward line with Carlos and Eddie roaming around together like Jake and El-wood trying to save the Fevola orphanage from being demolished.

Our simple, effective game plan has been well studied by opposition coaches and has become a little stale - we nees a pack marker/pack-buster and a I reckon a certain mongrel Irishmen can give our forward set-up a sense of the unpredictable...

Why is Lance leading wide though?
Early this sieason he was getting involved and going back to help out.
Now he has lost all of that.
As for Setanta.. ive been singing his name at CHF for a while along with you BV. At least he is desperate.

Thrylos,

Was Carlos really busting the pack open and forcing the ball to ground?

It seems Lance doesn't want to sacrifice his game for Fev's benifit. Why doesn't Lance lead up the ground to create space for Fev to lead into?

Ill answer that for you Effes. Yes. He launches himself at the ball whether its in the air or on the ground. This guy is changing the meaning of the word desperation. If he keeps it up hes gunna burst.Took some superb overhead contested marks, and fought like a tiger when it hit the deck. His mobility and agility is unique for one so big.And when he flattens out he really moves super quick.Bigger version of Kouta for mine.

I'm in the promote Sentanta camp but the rules are the rules and he wont be promoted in the short term unless we get a long term injury.
I would include Bannister(who does try, is fit, runs all day and accepts all challenges), McGrath( gives us some grunt instead of some of the feeble tackling we saw agaisnt Freo), Simpson( who has been poorly treated IMHO) and Chris Bryan who will at least give us another bigger option ..got nothing to lose playing Bryan. Eddie Betts should get a game as well....he can kick goals something we struggle to if Fev isnt kicking a bag.....you have to have a crumber...

out Davies, Longmuir, Bowyer, ...and Stevens, Fev who both will probably get suspended.

To be honest, I don't know why we're all on the Bannister bandwagon. I like the guy, and he's a good trier, but I want to see Simmo in the side, and also Bentick given a chance before Bannister gets back in. I think for a team who's struggled to win it, carry and deliver, we should be bringing in guys who specialise in that, before adding more defensive midfielders.

Plus, I think McGrath has more to offer in that department than Bannister.

In: Simmo, Bentick, McGrath... daylight... Bannister

If Fevola is suspended Morrell is really the only choice. He is a former full forward with a track record of kicking bags (if only sporadically).

I would love to see Setanta, but they would have to LTI Hartlett, and it doesn't seem fair to force the kid to sit out an extra month and stymie his development for the benefit of another player.

Bentick must be close to selection I would think.

I don't think Bentick can be in the same team as Brett Johnson who has done well the last few weeks..

I'd think that Betts would have to come in and I'd also bring in Simpson for Davies and Bowyer or maybe Chambers. If Fev is suspended then probably Morrell is a decent chance..

I don't think we can afford to drop Chambers unless he's really struggling. We need his pace and skill and goalkicking ability, since we don't exactly have those things in abundance. I thought he was one very significant the previous week in getting us back into the match.

Carlton will get beaten by the Dawks. Even Fremantle's Pavlich openly stated that he didn't rate Carlton. He said that Connolly hardly talked about the Blues match - and were concentrating more on the match the following week against Melbourne.

That is what Carlton is rated as -a crap team... by a crap team like Fremantle. Unbelievable.

Where is the anger, the determination to prove that this team will no longer be considered as c*rap>?

Where are the leaders that refuse to be written off as no hopers>?
