Just interested in exchanging stories of the best game you have seen played by your all time favorite Carlton player.
I will begin with mine. As you may have gathered by my handle my all time favorite blue was the Dominator. Mr Big Occasion...there was and still is no better on the big stage IMO.
The game was Round 1 1980 against the filth at Vic Park (House of the Filth). This was the grand final replay. Collingwood were hot favorites to exact revenge. All week Johnno was under a cloud and looked like he wasn't playing. Well people he did and for those of you not fortuanate enough to witness what unfolded let me just refer you to our old friend Bruce Macavaney and say..."it was special"
Dominator came out and slammed home 7 of the best as we steamrolled the wobbles. Will never forget that game. Despite the risk to my life standing in the outer at Vic Park cheering on the Dominator together with the 2 brawls that followed the end of the match on the way to the train station...still despite this ...God it was worth it...would be there again in a heartbeat...

Guys I take offence to the use of the name Ackland and Dominator in the same thread... :x

so many great performances by sticks but I can't separate two as my favs - the game against the pies in the 100 year game - you know the one on the Thursday night when he kicked 7 and just destroyed them? The other one was when he kicked 10 against the saints at PP, one goal in particular when he handballed around Russell Morris (or whoever) gathered the ball back and snapped from the boundary - it is on bluetube somewhere

What was scary about that game was he was at HB on Carey in the first half

He murdered Carey that day!

Best game of football I have seen from a player.

COMPLETE PACKAGE!

I've done a quick update based on this thread but I don't think that can do it justice given I have no memory of the game. For those who remember it, please contribute to the Blueseum - its there for exactly this purpose.

Stole my thunder guy's,was at the game-UNBELIEVABLE

Think we saw the Gerard Healy -"KOUTAMAN" headline after that game.

Also the big FEV rd 3 against the BUMMERS this year was the best goalkicking display (from outside 50) i've seen. :-D

I don't have one single favourite player. I love them all except for the ones I hate.

Tough task. Wouldn't go too far wrong if you started in the 95 finals series, but there were plenty of other great games over a glorious career :-D

Tough ask to boil it down to one game for Kouta. '99 Prelim was undoubtedly the most important. Although he was a bit stiff not to get the Norm Smith in the '95 GF.

'96 vs WCE at PP 35 possessions and 18 marks was incredible.

But just shading all those mentioned for me is his 39 possession, 13 marks and 2 goals vs Sydney at PP in 2000. was absolutely invincible on a day where his second quarter was simply the best quarter of footy i've EVER seen someone play.

An amazing game by Kouta. I was at the game and thought it was one of the single best efforts I had ever seen.

The great Stephen Kernahan and my favourite player of all time kicking 10 goals against the Dogs in 1995.

http://www.blueseum.org/cfc/tiki-index.php?page=Round+3%2C+1995

He should have kicked 15 that day.

That game was more enjoyable than when he played a lone hand in the 1993 GF and kicked 7 goals on Fletcher. We were so bad that day that his first touch may have been a mark taken near CHB and he had to run hard up the ground to get it.
