If these guys were interested would you entertain them in your thoughts

ALAN RICHARDSON

BRENDAN MCCARTHY

PETER JONAS

SHAUN REHN

BRAD GOTCH

KELLY O'DONNELL

PETER GERMAN

LEIGH TUDOR

DAMIEN HARDWICK

ROSS SMITH

BRIAN ROYAL

JOHN LONGMIRE

TONY MICALE

DARREN HARRIS

I wont go through what these guys have achieved in the coaching but why the apparent obsession with Voss( Who hasnt coached) and McKenna when there could be a better coach wanting and available.

Lets hope that
Pagan aint there in 08 and

The club look far and wide for the new head job
Particularly with Freo and the Dees up and going for new coach in 08

So the message is pretty simple

SACK PAGAN NOW

Mark Thompson?? Has lead Geelong out of the wilderness. Was on shaky ground this time last year with most of the pundits wanting him gone. Unhappy about the end of season review process, but ultimately probably enjoying the fruits of his hard work right now. Unlikely to leave Geelong but he will be uncontracted. Could be a good get if he chose to leave, would he go back to Windy Hill?

im hearing very good things about the guy, and his latest comment about not even entertaining positions until the doggies season is finished, is another tick as far as im concerned.

I don't understand why everyone is only looking at people that aren't current coaches - what happened to getting the best talent, not the best available talent?

I guess people are making the assumption, rightly or wrongly, that none of the established coaching gurus would be able to be pried away from their current positions.

Michael Voss has indicated he wants to coach but at what level....???

I have heard that Vossy will become coach of the Carlton VFL side and Denis will be asked to mentor him like a Parkin/Brittain situation and take a major part in match day coach.

It could work 2 ways, Denis will say no thanks and Michael Voss takes over or Denis actually agrees to it and the club will set up with a smotth transition.

The club will invest in Vossy's year as VFL coach simular to Bucks is under going at te pies.

When Voss was asked on footy classified does he have a team ready and he said yes, what he ment was he has an idea of the structure and people around he would like in place, but he actually has no assistants.

The club is awaiting approval from the AFL and VFL for it to be granted the use of Under 18 kids to top there list.

It's only speculation but it came from strong source.

Denis has a fair bit of support at the club more than most think since Swann and Icke have come on board.

He can actually trust these two guys and turn to them knowing that his thoughts are not going to get back to players (mitchell).

Stay tuned. And for those knockers out there i report what i hear just cause it don't happen doesn't mean it aint being discussed.

Interesting post Melvey. It makes some sense (not that i personally want Pagan to stay) when you consider we would avoid paying out Pagan, would give Voss coaching experience and would solve the impasse between senior and reserves/VFL coach.I just cant see Denis agreeing to it.

i cant see him agreeing to it either but apparently a option that has been discussed.

i have heard this from some one close to Denis, so i would have to say that Denis is still part of the equation hence why i am hearing he is more likely to stay than not.

Yes,it would be very hard convincing 35,000 members to renew next year with Pagan remaining as head coach. In a newspaper report today Freo may be considering joint coaches.Could this be something we could look at without anyone losing face (and avoiding the payout).People may feel differently about Pagan if he were in an overseer/mentor role, instead of matchday coach and we started to have success next year.

If that is the best our board can come up with, they can piss off in my opinion.
We want the BEST coach. Not the best possible trainee.
Either get the best coach or move along and let someone else do the appointment.
This is'nt an apprenticeship scheme.

Either Voss is ready to take the top job or get someone who is.

Pagan could mentor Voss perfectly on all the "don'ts" of coaching.

is pagan qualified to mentor?

hasn't he, by his own admission, only just learned to coach?

i guess he would be excellent at teaching voss how to piss in supporters' pockets. afterall he has "learned" on the job while being paid top dollar to do so ...

oh there's also those inane cliches that have way outlived their shelf date which can always be used to deflect criticism ...

I still reckon Pratt should (and will) chase Worsfold relentlessly

Nope! Roos will never move regardless of money.

Woosha on the other hand knows Carlton and may be able to be enticed back.

..not sure about Roo's for the blues top job, not unless he comes with a completely new gameplan for the blues.. ..i seriously doubt the swan's gameplan can work for the blues..
