Surely our win in the WC wasn't a false dawn. I don't think the knives need to come out, and the list of trades don't need to be drawn up. I just don't understand how we were so quick, so hungry, so direct in March, and now that the real stuff has started, why it's all turned to 4 types of crap. Yes, I know that we've had matches in our grasp, in fact all of them so far, and let 3 (and a half) tumble from our hands like an easy chest mark coughed up in the 50. I know that our conversion is killing us, and for some reason, the whole team has developed JasonDavies-itis in front of the big sticks. Is part of it that opposition coaches have figured us out far better than Denis has done to them, which I find somewhat hard to fathom, given how good a coach Denis actually is. I just don't understand the rapid change, and why the boys can't get some of that March pride in the blood and convert it on match day. |

PS: I still believe we'll turn it round and we'll make the 8, even if it's only by the skin of our teeth. I know we've got the quality to do it, the issue is: do we have the hunger? |

IMHO there's no problem with the hunger, it's just the application. Personally I just think it's one of those things. Yesterday was the first time - statistically - that we have kicked far more points than goals. Normally it has been about 50/50 or better. The statistics don't reveal the crucial misses (like our 6 posters last week), but when you look at what other teams are kicking, it's pretty comparable. We would have to be up there in the top 3-4 in the league for number of scoring shots and inside 50s, which says we are not too far off the mark with our gameplay and style, etc, but we are having trouble with finishing it off, and preventing the opposition from getting easy goals. Hard work and a bit of confidence will help the former, and T-Bird's return will hopefully help the latter. It'll come good, and when it does we will be awesome. It's just a question of will it be too late when it does click. |

All we need to do is work on our accuracy and we could very easily have been 5 wins and no loses and absoultely flying. In away - this is actually working to our advantage i think meaning people are underestimating Carlton If we can get our accuracy better we will win for more games than we will lose. |

Underestimating us and its working to our advantage??? doubt it! the season is shot! 11 from 17 to get into finals action... no way!!! It wont take much to turn it around.. but it wont happen this year. Were three really good players short. Hopefully we get 2 of those in at the end of this year... and then start going forward. We have too many of specific types and not enough of others. Pretty happy with whats coming through but they need leadership and the right players in the gaps. |

gee - i dont know how you can right the season off already. we are effectively 1 game our of the out. Its hardly the end of the world. If we win the next two games we will be 3 wins 1 draw 3 loses, hardly the worst performing team in the league. Dont think we are going to make the top 4, but still think we can make the eight. |

Sorry mate! in my opinion the season is gone. If Fev and Stevens are rubbed out this week we wont beat the Hawks or the Tigers... You think we will win 11 of the last 17?? Doubt it.. thats 2/3rds. If the aliens came down to earth and kidnapped Eddie Betts and said "take me to your leaders" eddie wouldnt know what to do... |

you have been pretty pro-active with your opinion on Campo, Kouta and Lance - i think we all get it Synbad. No need to put it in every post. Fistly - i dont think Fev nor Stevens will go and we will win the next 2 at least and i cant see any reason why, if we can get our accuracy straight, i cant see a reason why we cant beat geelong. the difference between us and north? accuracy |

I actually dont have a huge problem with Kouta and think its important he stays at this stage but not as Captain. There was one post i didnt spam anti non leaders stuff ill find it and get back to you just to prove it. ![]() I get frustrated with 3 blokes earning collectively nearly 2 million or 28% of the salary cap and coming up empty handed in the leadership stakes. The footy part failure is bad enough... But you can see why the club is stalling though cant you??? |

Spot on Synbad! We were crying out for on field leadership yesterday and it did not come from the ;leadership group. In an earlier thread/post it was mentioned that Stevens is showing the way. I must agree. Watching the replay last week it was Stevens who consistently supported his teammates with a word or pat on the back. When I watched the Bombers game it was very evident who was taking on one important aspect of leadership - Stevens! Not to mention his fotball performances. I for one will be interested to see the responses over the coming week. Another thing - apparently Campo's face is still suspect - does that stop him pushing back and manning up or filling holes in defense? I should think not! This is not negative - just calling it like I see it. If you see it you call it! |

Taff sorry you got one thing wrong, according to reliable sources, there is nothing wrong with the Skiers face. Apparently it was his mascra that was running a couple of weeks ago and he went to the beautician for a facial later in the week. |

No swelling, no bruising .... great make up job Mark! Shattered face.,... he was wearing the Phantom of the opera mask to hide the absolute mess his face was made of. Maybe it was a furfy cos he was fronting the tribunal that week??? Sure he had a heeadache but a shattered face???? Nah... if he was out on the field and playing every minute of run past the guy with the ball footy Campo was OK and back to his normal self.... shattered face???? ![]() Stevens can teach this bloke heaps. Watch Stevo Campo and try and do what he does... he actually works hard and plays consistent 4 quarters each week. |

We have Hawthorn this Friday night, then Richmond. Very capable taking eight points from the two games. In: Scotland, Bannister, Simpson Out: Fevola(susp: 4 weeks), Stevens(susp: 1 week), Davies Not bad taking two points out of eight interstate, conceding only 19 points. |

Not many teams front up from Subi and record victories on a Friday night game. Hawthorn have shown they can do ok ....they have played more good quarters than us. Were on 1 good quarter from 20 so far. |

Not looking forward to playing Hawthorn next week. Should Fev and Stevens get the arse, we are going to be in a lot of trouble. I reckon we were going to be in trouble with the Tigers in the first place. With Terrys Triangle (Richo, Staff and Simmonds all 195cm plus) in their forward line, which team has three 195cm defenders that they can thrown on these blokes? Livo won't be back for that game. And we can't ask Karl and T-Bird to hold all of them down. Methinks we are in for a bit more trouble in the following weeks. |

Agreed. I don't think Stevens will go, but even so we're going to struggle to kick 15 goals without Fev in the team (to take the best defender and main defensive focus, and still contribute 2 or 3 at worst). Big Red perhaps 2? De Luca 2? Betts 2? Waite 1? and scrape another 3 or 4 from elsewhere? Our defence might struggle to defend 11 goals. |
