We don't have a vice captain so it'll be somene from the leadership group. Personally I'd say Waite or Murphy, preferably the latter. Knowing our MC, it'll be Lappin |

They won't give it to Fev. They would sooner give it to Dylan McLaren than to Fev. The match committee have no idea. Fevola is the only superstar player we have. He couldn't win the best and fairest despite winning the coleman.. if that is the case, there is no way they will make him captain. Gerard Healy should be on our match committee, listen to what he says about fev. He is in 0.001% of players in AFL that can kick drop punt goals from 65 metres out. that is inspirational and that is what captains should be - inspirational. on another matter - collingwood are forging ahead with their youth policy. shame we have missed the boat. when do you think grigg will get a game? round 20 or round 22? This is what Malthouse had to say below: "One of the exciting things as a coach — and it should be for our supporters — is the likelihood that we will blood probably three to five extra players between now and the end of the year and they are not going to come into the side without form and that's very, very exciting." |

If Grigg plays well for the Bullants this week I wouldn't be surprised if he came in for Walker, to be honest. He's been injured, you know... |

Fev won't and shouldn't be captain. There are ways of being a leader and inspiring without wearing the captain's armband. SOS was never captain but there is no doubting what leadership he provided. Fev is a great player, but not captain material. |

Fev will be ready to be captain when he decides to chase like his life depends on it all the time every time. And when he decides to save his chats with the umpires for when play has stopped rather than during play. Having said that maybe it would be good for him. The only other I can think of is Carrazzo who has shown great leadership in the middle this year, is a hard worker, never shirks and stands up for himself and his team mates and presents well in the media. Might show the others what blue collar hard labour can get you |

The only reason I'd be giving Fev a go is that it's a 10 week stint at most. There'd be no problems handing it over to Stevens or Lance if they are able to resume later in the year or next year. I've been a huge critic of Fev's attitude and against making him captain, however, I reckon it just might straighten him up a bit even if it were only temporary. |

10 weeks to go I say rotate the captain each week between the remaining players in the leadership group. give them an opportunity (even if its only 1 week) to show what they have got, to see how they handle themselves. Give them a taste of what it is like and see who wants it the most. some players might not be able to handle it some players might allow it to go to their head some players might revel in the added responsibility and become an obvious choice ATM there is no 1 player who stands out as an obvious choice as captain, some have the potential. 2007 is about learning and developing, what better way of doing this than by rotating the captaincy for the remainder of the season (if lance is out that long). |

Good Idea! My captaincy roster for the remaindr of 07 would be: 1. Murphy 2. Waite 3. Fev 4. T-Bird 5. Carrots 6. Walker (Would be earlier...but injury) 7. Scotland 8. Fish 9. Wiggler 10. Whitnall....testimonial game? |

10 blokes having one week gives 10 blokes sweet FA. Give it to one who deserves it and can benefit from it. Don't get all romantic looking for the young kid to step up and take the flag ala the mighty ducks or some other American crap. Fev could really use the experience to lead his men and might learn something from it. They'll be plenty of time for the young fellas to get a crack. |
