Andrew Carrazzo now leads this club in Marks. Not too bad at all for a young man in just his 7th game of senior football.

Well done he's one for the future.

Future Gun. G-U-N.

Will be a great 'ordinary' player that every team needs to succeed. Probably his worst performance tonight (in a very short time), but still got 20 touches; he has already set a high standard. :)

Is he the guy with the big head compared to his body?

If so, was cut open by Medhurst and Farmer today.

None the less, was far from your worst player, needs to work on the kicking but at the game there was no doubting his attack on the ball.

Carazzo played a good first half, then Farmer realised all he had to do was run around behind him and push him in the back to make those marks go through his hands straight to into his own.

Nonetheless, Carrots was far from our worst and by my calculations didn't kick his first clanger until the last quarter. Most of his passes were pinpoint - and I noted most of them were passes to leading players, rather than the Hail Marys his was kicking in the first few games.

Yeah Luke u tell em.

Waite would also have to be up there as most marks in our team, he has had a killer start to the season.

Can't really comment on Carrazz's season so far but I just don't think that MARKS as a statistic column counts for shit anymore.

I look at contested marks to know who's a good mark in the league.

Carrazz wasn't our worst today, but he could be further ahead in the total marks column if he held those 2 sitters in the 2nd & 3rd...

Sorry to spoil your thread spf, but Waite is leading with 26, Carrazzo is on 24 :)

Blue you make some good points however this thread was simply highlighting that in 7 games of senior footy he's done ok. Davies and co have played significantly more with often less to show.

I think young Waite is now starting to show something and Davies (I'll be bald soon from pulling my hair out) has shown glimpses but in his just 7 games at the top level Carrazzo whilst still having plently to fix has plenty to like.

I don't think those figures have been updated from todays game have they?

EDIT:

Actually you are right and I am mistaken. I just checked all the profiles and counted all the marks - although the Fremantle games stat's weren't yet applied to Carrazzo and Waites profiles the club stats have been updated.

Still 2nd is a fair effort in his short time at the top thus far.

Was right behind the goals and saw him up close for two quarters. Spot on AC. Good efforts, far from disgraced, will learn a lot, but needs to use the footy better to avoiding hurting the team with the occasional turnover.

Nah, no problems spf. As I said I haven't seen his games except for today's as I've been away. I didn't think he was that bad at all today. I liked what I saw last year too.

I just don't really rate marks anymore as a statistic...

I tell ya who's a good mark... Brad Ottens. Gee.. can HE hold a grab or 2. Top Player, who YOU ALL said was crap.

By the way...... now you're all saying "Carrazzo needs to learn to use the body in defence".

SOLUTION: stick him on the ball. The things he's good at are best suited to the guts. The things he's weak at (the odd marking contest, spotting up blokes 40 metres away when he has 30 seconds for the kick) are things he has to do every week in defence.

For mine, we missed McGrath. He could have had a crack at Farmer or Medhurst. Good pace, good kick, strong and not overly short.

Josh Carr started getting into it and controlling the stoppages in the last half. Carrazzo on him and McGrath on Farmer.

It waasn't the greatest game from Carrazzo, but he wasn't awful. He did worked out of it by Farmer a couple of times, but Farmer is a sneaky little bugger who makes a living off doing that.

The way you beat Farmer is by winding him up and putting him off his game, ala Camporeale. We have NO ONE on our list who can do that. Who's our (likable) Brodie Holland? Who's our naggy little bitch?

Campo is anooying .. i reckon Campo should be our tagger... it will help him break the tag if he is the tagger.
Most expensive tagger in the history of sport. It might be his go though....
I still cant get over how he played with a shattered face...

Hyperbole aside, Synbad is right here. Campo should get run-with roles. Try to run him into games more, and finally he could break his own tag, while still have an effect on the outcome.

If Carrazzo is ready to spend some more time in midfield, I'd like to see Slimmo get a job as a small defender (the role he excels at in VFL). It would be a good way of easing him into regular consistent senior footy, and you certainly wouldn't have to worry about his disposal when he got those cheap disposals that defenders get in modern footy (as everyone else floods back).
