Perhaps out of frustration my thoughts on players vs Hawks.

1. Walker - Has had a great season but tonight was absolutely atrocious. I can count at least six times he turned the ball over while under no pressure by butchering the ball or errant handball. Just did not have the hard run from last week. Looked absolutely spent at games end though. Forgiven but needs to improve his disposal. 4/10

2. Russell - Dissapointing from the point of view that he really ran hard last week and that seemed to be missing last night. 2/10

3. Murphy - Thought he tried hard all night but getting caught for holding in the last was embarressing. Still has to carry a lot of load. 6/10

4. Gibbs - Didn't do much wrong but didn't really do anything special either - just cruising along and developing. 4/10

6. Simpson tryed hard all night also but really has to work on his skills on the RHS. 6/10

7. Bentick - Has been disspaointing for mine. Great tackler and in and under but just doesn't do enough else and hasn't really all season. Don't think we can play him and Blackers in the same side. Not damaging at all. 2/10

8. Whitnell - just dissapointing tonight - enough said. 2/10

9. Saddington - Really bad night and actually started last week. Just struggles to spoil effectively. Westhoff beat him last week and again this week had no effect. With the ball coming down so frequently and fast what could we expect anyway. 2/10

11. Ackalnd - Absolutely inept performance and that being nice. Was discusted by has game tonight and to let Campbell take such an easy mark in the last was just the last straw. Should be dropped but we don't have anyone to replace him. Just doesn't do enough around the ground. 1/10

12. Lappin - Disspointing night like most - Most embarressing kick across goal in last qtr directly to Croad summed things up. 2/10

13. Blackwell - refer Bentick - ditto. 1/10

14. Fisher - Honest tryer all night and has had a good season. Had the kicking yips tonight. 6/10

17. O'Hailpin - Still learning and overwhelmed in the ruck tonight. Didn't seem to have the same vigor as other weeks and often had his head down. Will improve/valauable lesson. 2/10

25. Fev - Did well to kick three from limited opportunities. Ball didn't get down to forward line with any effectiveness. 3/10

29. Scotland - Battled hard as usual but was caught out by small forwards a lot of the time tonight. Seemed very frustrated - to be expected. 6/10

30. Waite - Bit parts but an instance in third when he turned the ball over 3 times in one play is what is so frustrating about him. Got carved up when on the wing. 4/10

31. Bannister - Simply beaten. 2/10

32. Thornton - overwhelmed by incoming ball. 5/10

33. Houlahan - Disgraceful, weak and soft tonight - just jogged most of the night. Absolutely no intentsity. On one occasion just stood 15 metres from a contest with no help at all or player on him. 2/10

34. Wiggins - Battled hard all night - was definately one of our better players. 6/10

43. Kouta - Ineffective 3/10

44. Carrazzo - Tryed hard all night and had a lot of the ball but so did the other Hawk runners. Not damaging with his 30 possesions tonight but really the only midfielder to get much of the ball. 6/10

I'm sure of you may disagree however I'd like your thoughts and comments.

and how would you rate the coaches performance?

Playing kamikaze football and catching a few teams on the hop and some suggest he has reinvented himself. He then comes up against a coach still learning the trade and is whipped so easily.

I fell asleep at one point until the kid behind me yelled out that Fev was moved into the centre bounce............it happened all so quickly, but was the kid right?

At $650,000 a year, what is Pagan GIVING US, that is worth so much more than what a $250,000 a year coach like Clarkson couldn't give us?????????

Shane Crawford on AW today was asked what he likes about Clarkson. His response - his absolute DESIRE and HUNGER. His thirst for success. His passion. Crawford also pointed to Clarkson's meticulous planning of the opposition.

Give me the young hungry coach any day instead of the used car salesman we currently have with all his old re-hashed one liners.

Good analysis SCARA, I thought you were pretty much spot on. Our midfield looked pretty bad, but they weren't exactly getting first use from the ruckmen.
Guess you must be in the wrong forum grrofunger.... Maybe people should offer opinions about the players instead of having a go at someone giving theirs.

Hard to argue with most of the others but I thought each of those above could be rated higher.

Walker and Russell tried at least as hard as Wiggins and Murphy and probably contributed more.

You would have to give Carlos credit for being more than twice as good as Ackland and T-Bird possibly beat and at least broke even with his various opponents on the night - an amazing effort all things considered.

nitpicking and criticising for the sake of it - good work

If you dont like it keep it to yourself or find a new carlton site. Why are you even posting comments in this forum? You obviously must have a lot of positive things to say after a 100point loss bottled up. As for nitpicking and critising, you're doing the same thing to us :-D

G-Dogg, I'm with you on this one...

...can I call you G-Dogg?

The two newbie posters you were referring to had 6 posts between them, each containing no substance - just bitching and moaning. That's not a crime, but it isn't really adding much to the forum now is it?!

Sincere posters (as opposed to those who just like sprouting s***) usually introduce themselves first as well, before ranting.

If TC wanted posters of this calibre, we'd advertise on Saintsational. :garthp:

And Nicko - :garthp: to you too...

A positive to come out of the game was that Carazzo and Fisher continue to play great footy. The boys probably needed a rest and I hope that if some changes are made that Kennedy, Hartlett or Edwards might score a game. At least we know Freo wont have Tarrant. What a tool!
