We've had so many players come and go from our club in recent years, many showing potential but never able to show anything more. Who do you miss the most of those that have left us and/or who do you think could've been a good player for us if given the right circumstances. Some that come to mind for me instantly are Darren Hulme Jim Plunkett Trent Sporn Hulme and Jimmy I liked because they weren't pretty and very hard workers, which we could use right now. Sporn on the other hand could've been that stingy small defender we are screaming for now. Anyone else? |

Andrew Phillips was very talented; struck down by injury too early. Damien Lock showed promise; then fell away. |

I miss Fraser Brown. Although the umpires would crucify him in this soft modern game. Barnaby French is another honest toiler I'd certainly pick over our current ruck option. |

I agree that those guys weren't the quickest or most skillful, but they could certainly give us a bit of presence against bigger-bodied teams. |

Are you sure about that?..........Plunkett was only 178cm and 76kg......Sporn was (supposedly) 188cm and only 84kg; and Hulme was 175cm and 77kg.....roughly the same as Eddie Betts. Hardly a trio to strike fear into an opposition these days. |

I don't mean size-wise, but in their workrate and commitment. Whoever lines up on them would know they'll have to fight to get that ball. Also, can you imagine Hulme standing by watching as Murphy gets smashed time and again? (if it isn't obvious I've always been a pup fan ![]() |

I miss the tight tought types we had in our glory years and we will never re visit these times without this toughness again i.e. Hickmot Ratten Williams Hogg Dean SOS Dominator Brown Rice These guys had heart and did their jobs week in week out. IMO we currently have only a handful who are prepared to do the hard yards every week. Those that aren't prepared to do this are not required at Carlton. They are only making up the numbers. |
