Am overdosing on all the Blues stories in the papers today!

I love this bit from the Walker profile, right at the end:
Greg Baum wrote:
Walker established himself that day as a player to watch. Three ensuing years as tagger rather than tagged led some to speculate that he might look elsewhere to realise his talents.

Such vibrations evidently were no more than growing pains. "My main focus is wanting to play in a Carlton premiership side," he said yesterday. Last night, he signed with the Blues until the end of 2009.

this is one for the pro-tankers to consider

we win games, and play attractive football, we get positive press.

we get positive press, more people come through the gate

we get more exposure (hopefully) next year on FTA, which sponsors want

Walker is/will be a superstar!
His "apprenticeship" as a tagger has made him hungrier and an even better player. I must admit I thought he was being wasted, but when you see players with flair that have no defensive skills it can raelly kill a team. I don't see that in AW.

As for Shaw...he's always supporting Carlton...Thanks Tony! Great to see

Further examples of the value of Friday night football. At least one major story every Friday in both papers dedicated to that night's game, as well as obviously being the talk of the town that day.

If we continue to play the style we have been and win a reasonable amount of games, we should do ok on the Friday night front next year. Fingers crossed.
