Interested to see what people think about what happens after a win. The Blues seem to just gather together and walk off the ground. Other teams seem to do more to interact with their fans after a win. Some teams go and give high fives to parts of the crowd. Others sign and kick footballs into the crowd. Footscray even have 'Ted's Towel' to give to the fans. I get the feeling that after the lack of victories over the past few years, perhaps the players could do something to share some of the joy of victory with the fans. Maybe they're not used to it and haven't really thought about it. A few posts lately have talked about the kids who have hardly seen us win, I'm sure we would hold onto a lot of those kids if they high fived a player or got a souvenir after a win... What do people think? Does this matter? Should there be interaction between players and fans after a win? What could/should be done after a win? |

If the players genuinely want to interact with the fans then great ...if not, no harm. They're there to play good footy. |

Let's just keep a lid on things...it's only two wins after all, and there is still a long way to go. When the players (and the club) feel the need to celebrate, I'm sure they will involve everybody - but let's get our backyard in order first... ![]() |

I understand your reasoning Braddles 21, and it is a reasonable request. The players have nothing to lose and plenty to gain. The club has much to gain. I believe that interacting with the fans at the end of a match, albeit with a fence between makes sense; win-win. Players love the adoration and the level of appreciation they receive after a win; they love the moment. Given it has been a long time between drinks, I'm sure they would love to do it even more. It's called promotion; but I understand marketing hasn't been a strong point with the club for about 2 decades. It's a must situation/opportunity, but if they don't take the opportunity I will not cry, regardless of the fact that it will be a lost opportunity for the club and players, but I will continue to be disappointed that they don't seize the moment: wink: |

I think a lot of comes down to the leadership within the group. Neither Whitnall or Pagan strike me as the sorts of guys who are really comfortable with crowds and the limelight, and would rather just retire inward after a job well done. |
