On TFS, Hutchie said that Dempsey had an operation on a brain haemorrhage, and if it hadn't been picked up there could have been a 50% chance of death.

Good luck on your recovery, GD.

That would be a real blow for our ruck division if he can't get down to help out the boys. There wasn't any suggestion as to how long he'll be out of action. He was, however, interviewed at home, so that's a good sign.

Fast typing fingers Indie...

A real shock to hear this....(no sneaky leakers!)

Mega thanks go to his doctor, who is the Bulldogs doctor...apparently he suspected the worst and so alerted the surgeons what to look for.

All the best big Gaz.

Poor bugger, has not had much luck.

IIRC, he had a bad accident on his property involving his lower leg. Most men would have been an amputee, but he survived.

Good luck Demps, always remember being in the Carlton shop when he was buying a Carlton signed guernsey. Seems to love the club.

Speedy and full recovery big fella. This guy has had more than his share of setbacks and always comes back.Just another obstacle that he will overcome with ease.
I have actually watched Dempsey put the young fellas through there paces at training and can cofidently say he has been tremendous.A topline specialist ruck coach. He aint no spring chicken, but he sure does give the young fellas a run for there money.A real tough old bird if i ever saw one.

Best of luck,

hopefully just a huge warning note. Had a relative suffer a similiar thing...as a result (of it being spotted and managed early) he's healthy as an ox!

If it hadn't been spotted early it would have been a huge stroke.
Hopefully GD is in the same boat!
