Gee thats bad, all the best Gaz

I saw at the start of the footy show they said 2 AFL identities suffered major health scares, I missed the segment, who was the other?

Josh Gibson from the Kangaroos (190 cm defender who had secured his spot at half-back).

He went for a shower, and woke up in hospital. He'd been admitted because of bleeding on the brain after a fall. He doesn't even remember the fall, or on what he fell.

The Doctors have advised him not to play again this year.

Poor bugger, has not had much luck.

IIRC, he had a bad accident on his property involving his lower leg. Most men would have been an amputee, but he survived.

Good luck Demps, always remember being in the Carlton shop when he was buying a Carlton signed guernsey. Seems to love the club.

Also was badly burnt fighting the Lara bush fires many years ago.

Speedy recovery GD

Aside from burns during those bushfires, he suffered major damage to his throat. Hence, the gravel-type voice.

According to Pssst Gary has resigned as ruck coach to concentrate on his recovery.

Commenting on the fight between Carlos & Cain, he said they must have missed him.

That's a real pity. He was a fantastic teacher. But the resignation is completely understandable. Hopefully, he'll recover quickly and rejoin us.

Just say, "Yes Minister!". :P

On a serious note I wish big Gaza a speedy recovery. We need him and he may well need us to help him recover mentally. I know he loves the game and I suspect the club too.

Is it true that Dempsey is not at the club now?

And if it's so, have we replaced him with a dedicated ruck coach yet?

If not, I've read that John (Sam) Newman is a very good technical ruck coach.

Dempsey had a stoke and has quit the club in his part time role.

He has yet to be replaced.

yeah cheers DUC, I knew he had a stroke just didn't know if he planned on continuing when recovered.

We've got 3 young ruckmen in limbo then. Surely this is major priority that needs attention ASAP!

We had Sam Newman down at the club for a season a few years back when McKernan was around and he I think gets along pretty well with Denis so I wouldn't rule out him coming back again in the short term

We are REALLY in need of a good ruck coach - Gary Dempsey going down was an unmitigated disaster for us. He has done a great job so far and will be missed.

I would like Newman to come back to the club to help with our ruck stocks. He did a pretty good job last time.

If not, what's Matty Allan up to these days?

Isn't Matty GM at the VFL?

Heres one from left field.Big "Normie Clark" from VFL side Frankston. As far as tap work, body positioning, lokking for the right spot in the forwardline.......etc,etc .....Big Norm is a master.
And i defy anyone to match Norm in enthusiasm and encouragement of youth. This guy BREATH"S enthusiasm.Just ask any of our VFL watchers about the level of respect Norm commands not only from VFL people, but AFL folk alike.
