http://www.carltonfc.com.au/Default.aspx?tabid=4311&newsId=44485 [quote]Murphy admits it has been a steep learning curve since the departure of Nick Stevens left him to deal with the opposition’s No.1 tagger each week and coach Denis Pagan played him in a forward pocket for a good portion of Sunday’s match to try and shake his tag. The move paid immediate dividends as Murphy slotted the last goal of the game to see off the Dogs’ comeback attempt, but he’s still not completely sold on the idea. “I’d prefer to be in the midfield, but when you kick two goals and play in a winning team, it doesn’t bother me where I play,†|

Good to see, finally, some proper examples of treating goal kicking with the seriousness it deserves. Now if they can just get Fish to drop the ball properly, with consistency, we should be right. |

Fish's kicking has improved a heap this year camel, agree at times his ball drop is awful, but I think you're being a bit harsh - there's been a definite improvement. Waite on the other hand... |

But Fish yesterday was heart in mouth stuff too... |

While I admit both Fisher and Waite have improved it is the one glaring deficiency thay both have in their respective games. Both are great at marking, contesting and getting the ball. They just let themselves down too often with poor disposal and in particular kicking for goal. Both give me heart palpitations when they line up. Lets hope they keep on improving in this area for I'd hate to have a kick to win the game resting on their shoulders |

I agree, and I'm an unashamed Fisher fan. But, while I'd still rather him having a shot on goal to win us a flag after the siren than Jarard Waite, I would still have close my eyes, block my ears and think happy thoughts. ![]() |
