Argee SHHH, we can talk about leadership, we can talk about who's a hack and who is not, hell we can talk about work ethic. But what is killing us and has been this year is our disposal particularly into the forward fifty.

We have the players, we have the leaders, we have the ethic...we just cannot hit targets.

Agree seem to always recruit kids who can't hit a target, a basic skill that so often kills you on the rebound.
also worrying is the tackle count 69-33 against at Subi.

Maybe we should paint some shins on our forwards' chests. We'd hit the mark every time then.

Apparently, when I got angry and critical of Davies about this a couple of weeks ago, I was being overcritical.

I mean, really......it's nice that we got close so many times to the goal, but BETWEEN THE BIG ONES wins games.

And Fev has to stand as everyone walks by him and delivers a forehead slap.

Is it just me, or were we desparately missing Scotland on the ball?

How was Kouta? didn't hear much of him.

That's what happens when you don't have early draft picks. All the skill and athleticism go early. (Athleticism allows players to get in space and kick without so much pressure.)

Kouta was good in the middle on clearances but that was about it. Didn't seem to pull in many marks today.

Kicking practice eh?

I suspect Dennis will get a lot of practice kicking this week. He might start with Brendan and work his way around.

This is the weird thing you know.

Everyone is pretty pissed off right now, but I think we have been playing really good footy. Of course there are major ongoing adjustments needed, but the way we have played this past two weeks, against two sides that would have totally pumped us on their home ground (and remember Freo flogged us at Optus last year too) last year. And we took it up to them, outplaying both teams for significant portions of the match.

The only thing that has really separated us from the top half of the ladder is atrocious finishing. I daresay if we had kicked straighter and really hurt the opposition on the scoreboard when were hurting them further up the ground, we would probably be 4/1, or even 5/0 by now, and sitting somewhere near the top 4.

I don't care if other teams kicked freakishly well or poorly, we have had plenty of chances earlier in all of these games to shut the gate, and have not taken them.

The problems in our game plan are largely superficial - very significant, but superficial nonetheless. Ironically it was the normal culprits in Waite and Walker who kicked straight today, while the normally dead accurate Fevola, Stephens, Lappin, Longmuir and (to a less significant extent) Houlihan who let us down by kicking points when easy goals were offering themselves up.

There is plenty of time to turn it all around. If we play with the same intensity, and get the finishing aspect under control, we are a chance to beat ANY side.

I went to the game today and was sitting right behind the goals. In the final quarter when we were actually putting some scoreboard pressure on, it was from snaps and long range kicks. We didn't provide space for our forwards, or kick accurately to them on the lead.

The times when our forwards had beaten their opponent, or were on a strong lead, that the kick not only didn't favour the forward, but actually favoured the Dockers defenders was rediculous.

Granted that goalkicking practise should be held, looking straight down the ground I felt that it was our field kicking that cost us the game. We were more precise in the Wizard Cup and the forwards were having high percentage shots at goal.
