Post subject:  Best Game Since.....

I'd have to say that I was really p%ssed off when I saw the line-up that we named for the Bulldogs game.
I have always been a fan of both Wiggo and Bannister, but I'd have to admit that I had put them in the "Livo" basket a long time ago.
Not so much Wiggo, but definately Bannister anyway.
I could not believe that we weren't going to try to take advantage of their lack of height by using one of either Hartlett or Kennedy.
Then there was my other source of frustration.......Saddington.
I thought that he was well and truly worth a punt at pick 52 when we got him, but I guess I was beginning to wonder if he would ever make it consistently for us.
One of the things I've looked forward to over the last 6 disappointing weeks of footy has been how many Fev ends up with.
Yet another surprise today.
If someone told you before the game that we would kick 20+, you would have thought that Fev would have bagged at least 6.
For us to kick that many and have Fev only contribute 1 is great for the team. ( I still want to see him kick a couple of bags and take out the Coleman though!)
Wiggo and Bannister were two of the strongest contributors when the game was up for grabs.
Wiggo's attack on the ball was better than I've seen from him in a long while.
Bannister continually backed himself against one of the best forwards in the comp and won the battle. He wasn't afraid to contest the mark and took Johnson wide for his kicks.
Saddington wasn't brilliant, but put in a good effort. Good to have his experience down back while Carlos is in the ruck.
And Skinny!!!!!!
Someone must have really p%ssed Skinny off in the pre-season because some of the games I've seen him play this year have been great.
I haven't seen all the games, so I don't know how his consistency has been though.
He showed today that he is still more than a handful up forward with his marking ability and his ability to read the play and position himself well.
I'd love to see him play forward more often.
Kouta's possessions might be slowing down, but he certainly had some important touches today.
Gibbs was outstanding, as was Murphy (crucified by shite umpiring decisions!)

Just great to see us attacking relentlessly and not chucking in the towel.

The most important thing is that we are now playing footy without the flooding tactics.

Win lose or draw, at least we can watch with a bit of excitement.

I'd still like to see the younger guys get more game time, but guys like Blackwell are starting to come on well.
Hopefully Grigg will get a few games before the end of the year as well.

I just hope that the player management group at the club can keep this group together for a few more years because we should be in for some good footy!

Go Blues!

well said there. i just hope saddington can keep his body in shape for 2-3 more years because he's def a solid player and starting to show good things. if he can hold steady up back it will mean thornton can run and create more. today's was a real team effort and the boys now need to get another win next week. i really d o believe that if they can get confidence happening they will upset several top 8 potentials along the way just like we did today. I expect a win next saturday night at the dome
