Post subject: | JR HAS NOT Gone home... |
I have made an equivalent post on the talking players form, but the sad news is that, I have heard from a relative that Jordan Russell has gone home to Adelaide - for good! Personally I am saddened by that, but that's football, sometimes. He wanted to go home at the end of last year, but the club talked him into staying, if I remember correctly. He is very close to his family and misses them. I hope I am wrong as I certainly don't want to be the bringer of bad tidings. |

Shocking news if true |

The relative is also a Carlton member, so he's not trying to razz me up for the hell of it. I'm sure he is disappointed too. |

I assume when you say "relative" you mean a relative of yours? It would be very sad if true and the only hope i'd hang onto is that he went home for the weekend because he had no game to play and the club gave him the opportunity for a home visit and he's returned or will very shortly. |

it is absolutely astounding that something like this could happen on top of everything else, |

Explains a bit if it's true. We should be looking to trade for a out of contract homesick Vic or a 3rd rounder in October. If he can offer the Crows or Power something, we need to extract a ruckman or roughie for our future. There's a task for the recruiters. It was a major stuff up recruiting him, but I suppose you can't make every post a winner ![]() |

if true its the second time he put the club at ransom in some 9 months. if true i hope he doesnt come back... the games he played this year has put no currency on his trade value either. i'll be happy with a 4th round pick. |

If this is true, it's unacceptable. You don't pick up a first rounder who may get homesick and leave. Given the extensive interview processes during the draft camp and pre draft the recruiters should get this right. Trading Jordy for a 3rd pick is unacceptable. He'll be much better than that and we can't afford to be losing skillfull players like this guy. |

I don't want to sledge the kid, but I haven't seen any signs of excessive skill to this point. Regardless of which position he's played he still turned over the footy, mis-read the play or dropped simple marks. If he wants out I'd be happy for him to come in after the break and play loose to try and up his value for the rest of the season. Given he's contracted next year we've at least got time on our side. |

I guess having excellent foot skills on both sides of his body, being very fast and a good size doesn't count for anything. Not sure how he's misread the play either. Played less than 20 senior games and is just finding his feet. Has done some good jobs this year too... shutting down Stanton, Delidio, etc early in the season. If you can't see the talent and potential there, then I thank god you're not a blues recruiter. |

If true that he is leaving us, I just hope this lack of excessive skill doesn't reverse and bite us on the buttocks in the near future....it would just be our luck if it does happen though ![]() |

We haven't had much of a chance to see what he can do because of the tagging role he has been given. I won't be happy to see him go if this is true. How many games has he played? Not even 20 yet? |

IF...........'IF'...........this is true, then good ridence. Seriously, piss off. I don't want a kid like that at my club. Jeez, it was only last month that i read his interview saying that Carlton is is home and he loves it here and blah-blah-blah. Don't want people like that at my club. But............................in his defense,....................(and again only if this story is true) you'd have to wonder why is this happening? Why does this kid want out so badly, as did Thornton last year (and almost Fisher?). Sorry Zoneman, i'm not calling you a liar or anything, i'd just prefer an official word from the club. Either way, i wasn't really a Jordan Russell fan anyway. |

So why was he at training yesterday if he had gone home? ![]() WBY wrote: Quote: JR did train with the ressies / injured group and trained very well. He does seem to put in on the track.
I believe that people who post rumours that are shown to be false should be put on ice for a while. There are far too many of them. |

I could find 4 passages from the Collingwood game that made me reduce my hair mass by 30%. As a young bloke there is still time for him to find his feet, however, we've got planty of blokes waiting for their opportunity and they deserve a crack for a while. If Russells form warrants a return by R12-14 bring him back. You're right, lucky I'm not a recruiter. I was dead against trading Massie as I thought he offered something. But then, I also like Doering ![]() |

YOU REALLY WANT TO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT BEFORE YOU GO AND POST A NASTY ACCUSATION LIKE THAT. IF RUSSELL "DID" TRAIN YESTERDAY...THE DUKE SHOULD BE GIVEN A RUN IN THE BULLANTS THREAD. |

But then, I also like Doering ![]() For every poor passage of play, I'll show you 3 more good passages. I'll show you how he gets the ball and takes off on either side of his body. Some people need a little foresight. He has speed, he has skill (on both sides), he has size, he can find the footy, he has good vision. PLUS he went 9th in the draft meaning that there were others that also thought he had talent. Give him time and opportunity. |
