I think there is one facet of footy that gets overlooked on this site - the comment on the weekend that made you crack up or just think to yourself '...good call'.

So this is going to be a weekly thread (if it generates any interest at all) for people to put in their favourite quote of the week.

It can be a witty or entertaining quote, comment or insult that you said at the game or while watching it on TV or something that you heard someone else mention.

For me this week in a moment of anger directed towards the umpires in the third quarter during that passage of play when Lappin got reported, there was a 50m penalty and then another freekick I directed this one at the umpires:

"Maybe Goodwin isn't the only one with money on the game"

Now over to you....

Can't remember the exact detail, but one of the players in Carl v Adel was running without making any progress. Remember the quote though:-

One of the Fox commentators said he was "like a dog on lino"

Mine was more along the lines of:

"You flowering flowering dickwad - you wouldn't know if a full sized plaster Garden Gnome was being inserted in you sideways."

And I will dredge this up from elsewhere because it just makes me feel good:

"Whats with umpires these days - do they all have to be balding big nosed farts? Its like they all visit plastic surgeons with a photo of Scott McLaren and say I want to look like that."

Rex Hunt on 3AW, "Kennedy's as slow as a wet week."
Not very original and I hope he's VERY wrong but I am getting worried :(

by my friends future brother in law to a crows player trying to stage a free kick, he was lying and rolling on the turf after a marking contest...
"give him his bloody oscar and get him off the god damn field"

Shame we don't play the Eagles again this year...
I'm keen start calling Chris Judd ‘Hopoate’ following the weekend incident in which the former Brownlow medal favourite stuck his finger in a 'Brown' eye.

There was an extremely annoying female adelaide supporter sitting not far from us who on numerous occasions shouted to whichever carlton player was lining up for goal "chewy on your boot".
A guy sitting just in front of her eventually had enough during the 3rd quarter turned around & shouted back at her "Moisture on your flaps" - very crude but quite amusing nonetheless.

Coach Pagan talking about Carlton having to respond to the different challenges that each week's opponent presents:

“We’re probably like the little boy with the finger in the dyke..."
