Did BG do enough to get the rising star nomination this week?

I watched the game again and I thought he was terrific. He reminded me of Andy Mckay this week. Rock solid on the HBF, great body work and used the ball so well. Hard at it and intelligent.

ALL CLASS!!

It'll probably go to another "run 100 mph and occasionally kick a couple of goals" type. Gibbs is too grounded at the moment for the judges to notice.

i put this in the NRS nomination countdown thread as well but i think mitch clark (5 goals) and nathan jones had better weekends than him.

I dare not say it, but I get the feeling Gibbs is going to be even better than Murphy.

One break out game in the mid-field is all that Gibbs needs.

That is when he gets some time in the mid-field that is.

Do you notice how many times Gibbs finds Murphy by either foot or handball - its almost uncanny? 8)

Ya know.............

i liken GIBBS to a tank...........*no.......not the TANK that
helped us get him*.......he just keeps rolling along.............!

every week....he's improving by 4.3%........but not going
backwards..........always just getting that....LITT-llle bit....
betterrrr.........!

so he's played 9 games now......which means i've got
him at about 38.7%...............!

SO.......if he plays 22 games this year......?

we STILL won't see that 100%............it'd be around 94.6%.......
so come the 2nd round next year........?

BAM.......we're going for 103.TWO%.............!

that's some good % right there.............!

kindest regards tommi

i'm sure Jarr can organise the equation...............!

Personally I couldnt care less if he gets a nomination or not, he is going to be a star. Gibbs and Selwood to me are the standouts in last years draft. The NRS is ridiculous anyway, should only be available to first year players, the fact that Pearce was able to win last year says to me the award is flawed.

Anyway, whether BG wins it this year or not, I think we have got ourselves a topliner!!!!

Erm, I don't mean to be Captain Obvious here, but how can GIBBS! win the rising star when it is widely acknowledged that he IS already a star?!

All you guys must be all smokin something or a in denial. Gibbs a Star? Gibbs like Andrew Mckay..
I havent seen anything yet to suggest that Gibbs is anything but a steady a she goes type player. can anybody enlighten me as to what BG strenghts are?, He is not overly quick, cant take a big grab, as minimal elusive skills courage stilll questionable obviously currently very overawed and constistently being beaten by his opponent week in week out. Has good disposal skills, Overall bit rich i reckon for No 1 pick.. yeah I can hear you all howling, he still only YOUNG,but at this stage weve been sold a furphy by Adelaide.. Any body seen A davey play Now that what No 1 picks are sopposed to do..

Post number 12 follows the negative trend set in you previous missives.

What the hell are you looking for from a kid that has JUST turned 18?

Name me the other 17/18 year old that the Blues have had that has shown as much at a similar age?

I remember Jimmy Buckley at a similar age but he like the rest all had there ups and downs until they had put a couple of seasons under their belt!

Might i suggest you re-visit Saturdays tape and watch the subtleties of Gibb's game.

Or is it too easy to take pot shots of kids such as Bryce,Kennedy and Russell!

Great thinking there 99

You'd take a 23 year old who stands at 172 cm and weighs just 70 kg over a bloke who's just turned 18 and who stands at 188 cm and weighs 79 kg.

Hmmm ... I wonder who has more development left in them ...
