King Richard's expectations is 10 wins.

My expectations are:-

1) Gibbs to win a Rising Star nomination and he does it from a midfield position - wing/ruck rover whatever - i don't mind as long as he doesn't get the nomination from the back pocket.

2) Carlton to beat at least two teams they haven't beaten for yonks.
Sydney has won something like 6-8 games on end against us - I would like a win against them or Adelaide or Port or Fremantle...North... someone...anyone.

3) someone other than Whitnall to win the b and f. Scotland, Walker or Fev. - fine by me.

4) Fev. to kick a nine or ten goal bag in one match. Now that would make me happy.

I think you're getting "expectatons" confused with the word "fantasies".

Why is it a fantasy? Surely at least 1 or 2 of those is achievable - preferably all 4...

Oh!

I have one more expectation for 2007 plus the 4 points above, and that is for Hartlett to get a run in Carlton's side before round 20.

It isn't exactly as if Carlton is killing the opposition...surely there is a spot there for him.

Damn straight. Please get him in the team. 3 years at the club and we have no idea if he can play AFL standard football. At least give him a chance.

Play Hartlett....for who? Next you'll want to drop Saddo. We need to see if Saddo can play...he's only had 150 chances!

Then I'd be hoping for a new coach, because I can't see that Pagan will make this happen

Try something different.

Take Murphy, Gibbs, grigg, hartlett, Anderson and Benjiman up to noosa for six weeks. Give them one week off to refresh, then train them hard as possible for the next three. Bring them back to train one week with the blues, then inject them all into the team in one clean hit. See if they can recapture that Nab cup feeling.

Get Rid of Pagan give Ratts Care Taker role and inject youth to play and be creative Season is now shot in terms of any big ladder improvement so we may as well go for total youth developement. For this to happen Pagan has got to be removed.

I want to see the kids given a licence to play in positions they where given rotated on and off the bench not as currently being done rotated onto the bench only.

With Eddie Betts injured I think we should give Clinton Benjamin a run in our forward line. Bring back Josh Kennedy and also Hartlett. Aisake or Hampson also should be given a go to release Setanta to full back. What have we got to lose? If this doesn't happen in the next few weeks then Pagan has to go.

my expectation of this year was alot higher 6 weeks ago, now i expect pagan to be sacked.
We have the talent we just need the coach with a positive outlook towards modern foot not someone stuck with ideas from ten years ago

I expect a few more wins, maybe only a couple more wins, and a new coach at Carlton later in the season.

Now, some kind of mini revival might take place with a new caretaker coach if Denis get sacked - but I am not betting that it will.

or, maybe the Football Dept might take a cynical view, let Denis hang around til the end of the season in a manner that gets us picks 1 and 3.

These are both possibilities.

It actually doesnt give me any pleasure to say it and for a while, during the warm inner glow of the NAB cup, I expected more, maybe even a couple of games outside the 8.

But the reality does seem that 2007 is as I have said before, a nothing year...

I expext us to lose the next 5 but go close a few times and then towards the end of the season, 'click' and win a couple of unexpected games that will affect the final eight composition. There are teams sitting there at the moment we could beat on a good day. Collingwood and North for starters.

We get flogged the next four weeks in a row then...

King Richard has enough....he drags Pagan into his office and tells him "Thats it Denis!...It just is'nt good enough Denis!...pack your bags and get the @#$%&! out of here Denis!"

Pratt calls a press conference with Icke, Ratten and Swann...no Pagan.
pratt tells Swann to explain the Status Quo (not the band)...he then tells the media that Brett Ratten will be the care taker coach for the rest of 2007.

Ratten tells the media...we will be playing our most talented team every week for the rest of the year...that it is time for the younger players to stand up.

The next week Carlton plays Fremantle at Subiaco...the house of pain...Ratten keeps to his word and plays a young...fast and enthusiastic side.

They run Freo of their feet...for the first time for years Carlton looks confident...passionate and dangerous.

The blues beat the Dockers by 22 points...Fev kicks 5...Fish and EB 3 each and the midfield share the rest...but the stand out performaer of the night is J.Kennedy who drills 4 goals...takes 10 contested marks and dominates the HF line.

When interviewed after the game he says " Ratts just told me to go out there and trust myself...it is great to have a coach that enhances each players self belief"

Carlton go on to win 5 more games for the year...all of a sudden the "REAL BLUES ARE BACK!".

As long as we don't suffer more important injuries, we'll get back on the winning list and we'll improve as the year goes on.

But my big prediction is that there will be heaps of whinging about the loss of the priority pick. Pagan will be accused of being selfish, and each win will be regarded as an outrage.

And the ones who whinge most will be the same ones whinging about us losing now.

i did joke about the pp.

in all seriousness I believe we will win quite a few more games. After all we are 5th for points for which is a great springboard for winning games, after all you can't win games if you can't kick a score and we can definately kick a score. If we can tighten the defensive pressure around the midfield i expect we could win every second game from here on which is about 7 more wins.
