Post subject: | Quarters won - damning indicator |
Quarters won by a team is often a great indicator of how well a team is really performing. We've played 7 games - 28 quarters. We've won 8 (just over 1 quarter per game). Down the bottom of the ladder - Carlton - 8 quarters won Melbourne - 11 Richmond - 8 Yep, we've won as many quarters as Richmond, pretty embarrassing isn;t it??? This is a damning indicator, and unfortunately, one is hard pressed to find a side other than Richmond that is worse than us. If anyone thinks Melbourne is worse than us, they're dreaming. We are in a very sick state on-field (at least off-field is starting to sort itself). If not for Dick Pratt we'd all be feeling very sorry right now. |

that is terrible, the only bright side is that the 1/4s we have won have hopefully been when the game was still 'alive' - I think you will find last year we won some last 1/4rs when the other team stopped and cruised at the end. |

In the early 1980s we generally only ever won 1 quarter per game and more often than not it was the Third Quarter. ![]() |

Yes, that'd be the one we lost the initiative in last weekend. ![]() |

An interesting stat would be inside 50's per quarter. |

A more interesting stat would be number of quarters left before we sack Pagan. |

The lower that number is ...the better off we will all be. |

If we get thrashed this weekend...will Pagan be the coach the week after? |

Get ready for another classic Pagan inspired 60+ blowout this week. Schimma has been waiting 14 years for this. Don't worry Wayne, your day is fast approaching |

PP surely awaits We're 1/8 for last quarters won as well. Although, credit to the guys tonight for having the sheer will to make a decent fightback when the game looked lost midway through the last. |

We had Betts out injured and Whitnall and Fev limping away from the three quarter time huddle, and also a VERY YOUNG midfield with several thousand less kilometres in their legs than their opposition. The last quarter was a fantastic effort from the team on the park. |

The last quarter was a fantastic effort from the team on the park. Yep, I concede that. It started ugly, but we showed a lot of ticker to kick our best 4th quarter score for the year. Like last week, the damage was done in the 3rd quarter. |
