Just saw this in the news - sounds like a decent win for the Club?

Blues win the race to sign Jake Pianta

The Carlton Football Club is pleased to announce that it has won the race to sign Jake Pianta from Penrith as its first NSW Scholarship player in 2007. Jake was highly sought after by a number of AFL Clubs and his signing is a real coup for the Carlton Football Club.

He'll have a great career on the bench or in the ruck if he is a CHF.

quote "His love of football is from his father Tony who grew up in Bendigo and played football for South Bendigo."

Wasn't that Carlton territory in the good old days?
Maybe thats why he chose Carlton?

Just curious about one thing: the article states each club can nominate two eligible players each year... is that correct?

He's about the same weight as Dale Thomas, Ellis ,Oakley-Nicholls and Krakouer when they were drafted yet he's just 15. :)

I'm hoping a for a Lance Franklin type growth spurt since Mitch Clarke was a good head taller than Buddy when they were juniors. 8)

We have two.

Fenaroli and Pianta.

Great news for the club.

For more info look in the Sydney recruit thread in the Recruitment section.

Looks like got some Italian descent players - keeping the tradition continuing at Carlton

I just hope he only lives in Penrith and doesn't play footy in the area.
