I'm crazy.

I'm coming down to Melbourne this weekend to watch us play Collingwood. I've never seen a Carlton v Collingwood game. But what is it about this team that makes us Carlton supporters hate them so much and so fanatical about them that they would spend $200 odd to fly down to see this game.

Is it the right to hurl abuse at feral Pies supporters? The umpires? The coach?

Whatever it is, I'm crazy enough to do it this weekend.

I'm more anti Essendon* and feel Collingwood are similar to us in many respects.....Sheedy, Hird, lloyd infuriate me...Malthouse, Buckley I have begrudging respect for....

When we were at our lowest Eddie Mcguire and Collingwood said the comp needed a strong Carlton....Essendon* didnt they were more keen to stick the boots in...

5. Richmond ( It is like having a pet)

7. Hawthorn (Crawford, Brereton, say no more)
8. Fremantle (Tarrant, Solomon, Farmer, etc)
9. Port Adelaide (I also support Norwood)
10. Brisbane ( because I am jealous that they hane Matthews)
11. Sydney (because I am jealous that they have Roos)
12. Western bulldogs ( I like them actually)
13. Adeliade (Association)
14. Melbourne ( It is like having a scooter)
15. Kangaroos ( I have a lot of respect for them)

For me this rivalry was always about our ability to get over them in the big games...when it counted most. But I do agree there is a more of a mutual respect these days between the two maybe because they are next door neighbours, but probably more because of the rise of interstate dominance. As for Essendon*...It's just a given now that we do them when its least expected. Must admit wins over the bombers do give me more joy these days.

As much fun as it is to mock Bucks for going to Collingwood to "play finals" ( ), they have balls, presence and tradition. I hate them because they're Collingwood, but if I was impartial I reckon I'd not mind them very much at all.

Yeah but that was a typical teflon two faced effort by Eddie. He was there with McMahon demanding the AFL impose sanctions not to punish Carlton but destroy us. He was writing the same in his guise as a 'journalist'. I think Sticks confonted him about it.

I probably hate Essendon* more because they are more arrogant (and have more to be arrogant about) and they have beaten us when it counts. Collingwood never have in my life. I remember as a kid in standing room forlornly barracking for the Blues before half time in the 1970 GF. A middleaged C'wood supporter told me to look at the scoreboard - really should wait till the end of the game to say that. They have really suffered psychologically from that loss and that has carried through to Eddie in terms of them always excusing losses - 1970 McKenna concussed by Tuddy; 1977 Phil Carman suspended; 1979 Harmesy's tap; 1980 great effort to get to GF from 5th; 2002 Rocca's point that was called a point and they lost by 9 pts, but an excuse anyway??? 2003 Brisbane salary cap concessions......

The Pies have won one flag in my life, I've seen Carlton win 8 in that time and the Dons have won 6. The Pies have two flags in the last 70 years, that's close to the living memory of their oldest supporters. I love beating them, but I hate some other sides more precisely because in the one absolute measure of success - onfield- the Pies have been really unsuccesful for 70 years.

It's like when you're too feral to get a root, you may as well be sterile. Some say sterility by feralility or ferile for short.

Why? The media i blame mostly, becuase the swallow every bit of bullshit, @#$%&! head says, and i cant stand Llyod, no other player shits me as much as him. And, i will say it, im sick of hearing about players who play the game for 3 mins, who do nothing but tackling, being the change in their fortune!
