Reckon Teague may get first crack at Farmer.

Agree with what you're saying Ryan, but if it's good enough for Denis, it's good enough for me.

Class move laying the pressure of Eddie for a week or two as well. A run in the magoos will do him the world of good.

COME ON YOU BLUES!!

If Betts is goingto Perth as an emergency he won't get much of a run??
Anyone know if he went?

I wouldnt worry about McGrath.... he will be back

Johnson has a habit of Turning a Shocker after each good game he plays... Not once in his whole Career was he able to hold his place in the midfield & i am afraid its hard to see that change when he will be exposed to the gorunds of Subi :(, this is his last chance, he realy needs to pull two good games together and get his hands on the footy...

The "Enigmatics" always seem to save their best games against Carlton, these guys worry me to. I know Bowyer did a great job last week, but pace isn't his greatest asset and could be found on Subiaco. Carazzo is cool though. 8)

What do you call playing 21 games straight last year...

I think Justin Davies can consider himself very lucky. He has been very erratic this year. I personally think that Betts should have played before Davies based on their respective form. He has been our most dangerous forward in various patches and subi would suit him to the ground (pardon the pun!). I wouldn't be surprised if there is a late change and Betts comes in.

Not sure about that. I think McGraths time at Carlton is just about up.
I like him because he gives a 100% all the time but he just hasn't got enough class

I disagree Rhys, I would like to see McGrath play a more attacking role, he has the ability to hurt the opposition. He hasn't played his best footy whilst tagging, he's more creative than that.
Regards Pedro.

Yep, I'm with you, Pedro - I consider him a long term Carlton player and, yes, a part of any future success we will have. Why? Dunno. I trust him and have faith in him, I guess. Besides, we need someone who shows the whites of their eyes once Camporeale goes, and McGrath's my pick for the wildman look

Perhaps not being the given the roles that suit him at the moment? Perhaps out of form? Took him a while to get going last year, if I recall correctly [which isn't a good pattern to get in to but, there you go]

Last season when he was planted in the goal square he made poor old Digby look like an under 10 in the under 18's.

Fair enough I just reckon he lacks the Polish, Poise, Vision and Kicking skills to be an attacking midfielder.
Hope I'm wrong

I always took McGrath to be a pretty good kick and his vision seems decent to me also.

McGrath? I would have said he was 1 of our best with the footy in his hands. Stevo, Houla, Lappin, Fev and McGrath would have to be the best kicks in our team. Oh and Carazzo aswell

I like the look of this weeks team. It's amazing how the inclusion of 2 class players balances this side. It has a good blend of height and pace across all lines.

I’m disappointed for Betts, but he hasn’t had much game time of late and needs more fitness. Hope he does well with the Ants.

I expect Longmuir to start the game on the ground. He will be wanting to do well. I felt he did ok last week - should have kicked 4 with the opportunities he had.

Chambers experience on Subiaco will be handy and expect the run he had last week will have done wonders for him.

Freo’s FWD line hols no fears for me. Thornton at FB gives stability to our backline and our forward line looks awesome. Feel Subiaco will suit our forwards with plenty of space to run in to. We have plenty of options to kick a big score – remembering that they have the worst scoring forward line in the comp.

How we go will be very dependent on French’s contribution in the ruck. He is having a fantastic season. Sandilands height will mean him having to jump a lot higher, but I expect him to have the edge around the ground.

As an aside, anyone know of his odds for the Brownlow? He must have got votes already IMO! I also believe the new ruck rules and the circle have been a huge advantage to him. If he can get his hands on the ball first our mid-field with the inclusion of Campo will be too quick and precise for Freo.

Blues by 4 goals. GO YOU GOOD THINGS!!!!!

re: Medhurst and Carazzo....Medhurst will outbody him and out mark him everytime...Medhurst needs someone like Sporn.
Carazzo would be better suited to Farmer..
Going to be a small backline if Thornton doesnt play......Deluca may well have to play down back to help out against Sandilands.
Agree with PJ...would have liked Chris Bryan in the team...nice fine conditions and Freo are well served in the ruck...
I would have played the quick Eddie Betts and dropped the not so quick Justin Davies...Subi is ideal for Eddie IMO ...

Karl did a job on Medhurst previously and appears to play smalls better.
I'd play Carrazzo on Farmer.
DeLuca on Longmuir if he plays forward.

Here's my matchup's...

Carrazzo Norman Sporn
Farmer Longmuir Medhurst
Teague Thornton Wiggins
Murphy Pavlich Cook

Like to see this in the middle:
Houlihan Stevens Chambers
French Koutoufides Camporeale

And up forward:
Lappin Whitnall Waite
DeLuca Fevola Longmuir

Int: Bowyer, Davies, Johnson, Walker (plenty of rotation here).

Interesting to note that most of the leading tipsters in todays Herald Sun have picked the Blues to win.....
