It took Carlton over 23 years to win 1938 flag and 21 years to win 1968 flag and that was the VFL,with the AFL being twice as hard and all the loss of draft picks and the worst history of the club, this decade our last flag was 1995 and looking at those both tough times our next flag could be year 2013 if we take 18 years.23,21,18.

So finals in year 2009 or 2010.

I agree playing the kids 2 years straight after probably playing last year that equals 3 years to make the finals maybe 4 if you count the 2 years as wooden spoons so 2009 finals you would think and a flag possible with at least 7 years in the top 8 or more. I still think we are way back to other clubs but securing Judd would probably put us with a chance next year depending who we lose for him.

I'll be suprised if we turned it around and made the finals this season, there still not enough experience with the kids playing and the experience players are rather ok at the best of times,we probably expected more but we did come last last year and probably thought being on the bottom so long we are on our way but realistically the team has only being playing for a couple of seasons settled a bit,the other years were wasted with Mick Martyn and other players who never were going to put us in a position in the 8.

Of course I think we might manage to draft one or two players over the next five years to replace those who don't make it... just one or two

This all assumes that they will be
a) still playing for CFC
b) still playing at all
You could probably rule out the 30+ year olds (17,25,30,32) on the basis of (b) and, for mine, you could probably also rule out all of 1-8 (most of them on the basis of (a) but one, #8, on the basis of (b)).

With the way the guys have been playing recently, a couple more draft picks seems to be on the cards (as Andain said). Any ideas who the top Draft Picks are most likely to be this year?

That's like saying Myers may have a bit less stock after it's Boxing Day Sale.

Whitnall will be the oldest player at the club.

i think we'll be ready to win a premiership in 2011 at the earliest and the list we have now could probably keep us in contention for a premiership up until about 2016.

You may all live to discover that our football future isnt as bad as you think.

Carlton will win another flag with a very young team and a young coach.

The coach at this time is in his first year as a coach at afl level.

An old coach watches proceedings from the stand, satisfied that although he isnt there, he is happy that he put the building blocks in place for a totally unexpected, but glorious premiership victory.

Unfortunately however, this football triumph occurs during a difficult time - a rather frightening war is occurring in the world at this time. This war is I believe a prelude to a much larger world war which lasts for most of the next decade.

Won't happen.

Wallace has already booked in a Richmond dynasty from 2011, so we'll have to get in line for the 2019 flag.

Yeh that true some won't be there but i just made a list of players that could be with their rather young age even Nick Stevens could be in it, he would be only 33 if he was still fit enough and probably ending his last season.
