Yeh - couldnt believe it - Canberra's got this little known sports radio station and they interviewed Pagan this morning - go you good Capital thing.

He mentioned something about an injury to a 70 game player - he didnt want to give away to much, but "the player's initials were Simon Wiggins" (it actually came across pretty funny on radio)

Can anyone confirm?

Rich

Good get Bluey95. That would really open it up for Edwards (or even Teague  ).

Can you give me your take on the tone of the interview? Seems to me that he's transformed from media grump to a polished, light-hearted media performer.

Let's hope it is Wiggins (no offence of course) but I guess DP should know

The interview was on the Canberra Sports channel - I think it's still called SSS.

He sounded pretty relaxed compared to a lot of TV interviews I've heard him on - probably thinking that the Canberra AFL public aren't that interested or involved. Little does he realise about the secret blue army in Canberra (insert evil laugh here)

Talked about "Yes Dennis" (his horse) running in Warnanbool (spelling) today - it hasn't run in the wet before but was mothered by a good wet runner so may well do OK.

It was bloody fantastic hearing him on local radio apart from anything!

That reminds me - he was asked about the horse yesterday on SEN. They threw in the fact that Wayne Hughes and he are co-owners. I wondered whether that suggested that there was a close relationship between WH and Pagan (perhaps predating WH's appointment and perhaps explaining it).

Go Teaguey you good thing!

Bad luck for the Wiggler - Pagan sure does love the bloke, probably hear the injury and the replacement named on TFS tomorrow.

I can't absolutely confirm that Wiggins has an injury, but it was the giste of what I did hear.

Again, if anyone can confirm, that'd be great!

Not wantingto sound mean or anything, but Wiggins being injured might actually be a good thing for our team. It forces Denis to stop playing favourites and bring in a more talented kid.

I heard an interview on 927(melb) around 7.30ish this morning prob same one as in canb. DP confirmed an injury 2 wiggo and mentioned that a couple of kids are under consideration for this friday night. But the best part was when he spoke about TEX and stated that he is ready!!! Hopefully that means he will be played on ball from now on in.

I know what I'm doing.

Curling up in a little ball and hoping it's not true.

Still reckon he has the hardness and commitment our forward line needs and that JK will provide in a few years but can't now.

Always sucks to have players injured. Really hope this isn't true.

Sorry my sarcasm is thinly veiled.

Wiggins is a hard nut and would be a great HF for the Bullants.

Well aware of the sarcasm. Hence the joke nature of my first two lines.

I stand by the rest of my post though.

I dont know where to cling on this Wiggins issue.

Do I cling to his 13 good games in 2006 with a different game plan?

or

Do I cling to his first 5 years which didn't show much?

Well according to The Age, Wiggins is a definite no-starter for tomorrow night. Hamstrong soreness is the issue...

I'll leave people to celebrate or commiserate as they see fit. I really hope this gives young Jake the Snake Edwards an opportunity though!

Now that you put it like that...

You cling to "we can still be friends" line.

It has been nice knowing you...we will catch up soon...dont call us we will call you...thanks for coming...its been a pleasure...close the door on your way out...

13 semi-reasonable games in a wooden spoon season of flooding is not going to do us any favours when we start playing good/free flowing football under a good coach next year.

Do they mention if he'll play Friday?...or just no good for tomorrow- with such "strong" hammies, you never know?

Sorry, couldn't resist
