One of TC's and the Blueseum's best posters, PatFitztrick, has put together this outstanding article to commemmorate Anzac Day from a Carlton Football Club perspective: http://www.carltonfc.com.au/Default.asp ... wsId=41886 The article is the first to be rolled out under a combined Blueseum / Carlton Football Club arrangement designed to promote our Club's history, and the Blueseum. These articles should be rolled out monthly and other TC posters (outside of the normal Blueseum crew) are involved. |

If anyone is going to the Presidents dinner at the game on Saturday night keep an ear out when listening to the President's speech. Some parts of this article will be used. ![]() |

Excellent article that echews the ra ra ra ozi-ozi-ozi aspect of Anzac Day as it stands now, to focus on the horrific reality of young men being slaughtered in an ill-judged battle of a pointless war. It has always seemed to me that Anzac day is important because it focusses on the human tragedy of war through highlighting a disatrous military campaign where young men died very bravely, but pointlessly, sacrificed to the whims of remote politicians (Winston Churchill and Billy Hughes, I'm talking about you!). Have we learned the lessons of history? Why are we in Iraq again Mr Howard? |

Every time I try to imagine what these blokes must have went through while serving their country...I can't. I just can't imagine that I'd be brave enough, strong enough, to do what these people did. Respect and Honour. Great article, and certainly cause for thought. |

I thought only Essendon* and Collingwood had made wartime contributions? |
