Great game from the big guy on Saturday and nice to see it acknowledged in the meedyah as well.

Great article.

Makes my heart swell with pride, and brings a tear to my eye to see how much the big Irishman bleeds navy blue.

he is fast, and i mean really fast, becoming my favorite player.

well done santy, if we had 22 players give the same commitment, same desire to win, we are going great guns.

Here I am, sitting in an office in the north west of Sydney, with my Blues scarf parading proudly on my desk, resigned to the fact thatI won't get to gloat to any Essendon* supporters this week.

Then all of a sudden our Melbourne warehouse manager wanders past my desk - yep, you guessed it, scum supporter.

I laughed and said 48 points, then laughed again.

He's a shattered man - I mentioned what a flower his Captain is.

He said he was amazed at Setanta in the one on ones.

So I gave it a bit of "well, next year there'll be two of 'em - and the second one's bigger!".

You can't wipe the smile off my face today.

This is what I had been telling people. If Richo wants to rough Setanta up, thats fine, he can look after himself, but in a couple of years there'll be two of them and baby brother has WLF :-D

Oh, and you can add me to the list of people who have Setanta rocketing up their favourite players list.

Murphy
Walker
Setanta

The best part about it is the warehouse manager was thinking "you beauty, I'm in Sydney all week, I won't cop any shit".

Then he saw me

I'll give him more than he ever would have copped at home :-D

I've already mentioned this in Talking Players, but I love this bit of the article:

Quote:
Early on, with his team losing both the game and its football dignity, he kept the navy blue flag rammed into the turf at one end of the MCG.

I love it that our most inexperienced player is quickly becoming the one that leads the way in never taking a backwards step.

Has massive pride in the jumper does our Santy, and Tim Lane is right... he stood toe-to-toe with Lloyd even when we were getting flogged. Taking a backwards step was never an option.

*goosebumps*

It's the pic from the above article.

The pic itself is better again, and it's my new wallpaper

there is footage, if you can get it of the game, where santy goes to about 15cm away from llyods face, all the time, eye balling him, and llyods response?

look away, like the wet rat that he is.

a big man kiss for santy. he playes the game how it should be played.

fair, hard and tough

While we're having a Setanta love-in, here's the cover of yesterday's Herald Sun sports section (for all you interstaters):

I hope our Irish mates get a read of that article.

Fantastic stuff.

It's amazing, on MMM they were awarding their "Worst On Ground" and Santy got a mention.

I don't care what MMM says. I know what I saw and I loved it.

Santy, you'll do me.

It has been said that a picture can be worth a million dollars.

And the one in yesterday's HS sports section is worth all of that and more!!

Optus..the rest of Australia would have seen that photo 100 times each...it's sitting on couches, desks, bedrooms, offices, lunch rooms everywhere..you're baby blues have you on the front page exclusively!!

So Optus, where's the million dollars for the exposure??

Ching ching.

Go Setanta.

Go Deano

Go Blueboys.

Anyone got youtube vision of that crazy dance Monga did waving his arms at hip level while running toward Carlos?

Looked like thalidomide meets Elaine. I like to see it again. I had tears in my eye laughing at the tool.
