Post subject: | Poll to omit Lance |
Obviously Pagan is not going to make this decision - but I am not going to sit through another game like that Geelong game whilst there are OBVIOUS passengers in the team. I think a poll should be made on who believes Lance can or cannot be omitted from the team. Obviously the rank and file supporters have no rights - we have to turn up to the game and accept watching the Carlton brand being dragged through the mud. That loss was the hardest one I have had to endure - and that includes the 4 goal effort against St Kilda last year. At least with a poll we are putting pressure on those in charge to do what we all know is right. Or do some people still believe Lance should be selected this week? .... |

I can't see that working. The coach would be in an untenable position if he was perceived to have succombed to a petition after stating publicly that he would support the player. |

I think a petition should be started to omit Lance from the team. Obviously the rank and file supporters have no rights - we have to turn up to the game and accept watching the Carlton brand being dragged through the mud. That is our lot - or we can take action. At least with a petition we are putting pressure on the clowns in charge to do what we all know is right. Or do some people still believe Lance should be selected this week? Can someone at least start up a poll.... wat kinda of supporter are u? u should be supporting lance instead of calling for his head. U dont drop ur captain after two poor games. Ur disgrace as a carlton supporter. |

You've gone this far, Tap, why not do it yourself ![]() Good luck with that! Start one for Fev while you're at it, after all, he didn't manage 1 goal last week - maybe he needs a run in the 2s. |

It didn't work for me anyway. OK - So anyone who thinks I am out of order - ask yourself this? How many poor games can Lance play with his injury before he is omitted? should we wait until his 8th poor game in a row? or his ninth? This is the 6th game in a row where Lance has been carrying an injury?... and quite frankly I am tired of records being broken against Carlton. Anyone who witnessed that Geelong game wants to see improvement...not the status quo. |

what is the world coming to OK, so obviously you are happy with the status quo and believe that certain players don't deserve to be omitted. It is like Animal Farm - all animals are equal but some are more equal than others. So all players can be omitted, but some players can't be omitted in any circumstance. How many points do you believe Essendon* will beat Carlton by this week? |

Look, I would love to point out all the positive things Lance has done for this club over this year. His goal in the 99 prelim. will live in our memories for ever, but it is now 2007 and quite frankly I am sick of thrashings...and anything that can minimise the chances of being thrashed is a positive move. |

tap I don't think you needed to start another thread on Lance but I do think the attitude of 'he's our captain, you can't drop the captain' is a stupid one. |

I'd like to think that the team of Pratt, Icke and Swann can run this club without the need for members to impose themselves on its day to day operations. I'm not a Lance-fan by any stretch, but a petition helps no one. |

he's had two bad games since winning our Best & Fairest and we've got a poll to oust him? Bit harsh! If he's injured then drop him, but there's no need for this kind of dramatic explosion! |

How many points do you believe Essendon* will beat Carlton by this week? That's not true. Some players do acquire respect and some patience after 200 odd games of AFL. Even having him listed as playing on the bench means the opposition coach has more to worry about than if he saw Teague or Bannister in his place. He'll come good soon, and if he doesn't it'll be because of his injured knee and they'll rest him for 3 or 4 weeks (or that's the excuse the club will use, and fair enough too) so back up your captain rather than slagging him off, because Fev doesn't even look like kicking multiple goals atm, and we wouldn't want to get a petition going for him, would we? |
