Scotland:

Gets a heap of the ball yes. But notice almost 80 percent of his possies are cheap possessions, where he just receives the ball from a team mates feed. Whenever someone has the ball and Scotland is near, he demands it as if it is his right to have it. He's pathetic, makes some horrible decisions, is very slow in his decision making, and when we don't have the ball he is completely unaccountable. I didn't see him man up once tonight.

Houlihan:

Another disgrace, again gets it a heap, but is soft and gave away a few goals tonight

Whitnall:
Didn't get near it again. I'd love to know to know how he could have been made captain. Absolute mystery. Captain useless.

bit harsh on scotland imo, yes he does only receive the ball but more often than not he uses it really well on both of sides of his body.

Let's line them all up in front of the firing squad.... jeez!!

Bandwagon supporters turning on their players after a bad defeat. That'll help them.

Way way too harsh on Scotland, he is a very calming influence around the backline, doesn't panic which is what we need more of.

There's less than half the players in our starting 22 who can hit a target regularly, and you've named two of them above.

Bit hard on Scotland and Houla.
Lance on the other hand is a shocker. Pagan has to show some guts and drop this non contributer. As captain he sets a poor example for our kids both on and off the field. How would a bryce gibbs and marc murphy feel busting their guts while they see that bludger standing around just waving his arms.

Thought Houlihan was terrible. When we were still in it in the 2nd qtr he had a shocking kick into the half-forward line under no pressure which they turned over for a goal. 30 seconds later he fired out a ridiculous handball over his shoulder in the middle from which they also kicked a goal.

In the 3rd quarter he spent a lot of time in the middle and didn't get near it when the midfield really needed to stand up and show something.

I'm really not sure what purpose he serves.

Lance Whitnall is a selfish footballer. In the last quarter on the right HBF, Russell was getting the ball, had got the ball, put the foot down and bloody Lance in trying to get the ball, knocks him and Russell loses the ball.

Why the hell didn't Lance shepherd? He's got a big enough body, he was in the right position.

If he was really footy smart, he would have realised that had he shepherded, Russell would have got away and set up play with a switch to the left.

That was the cream on the cake for me. When you have a captain being selfish, what kind of tone does that set for the rest of the team?

Wow a defeat and this is how you talk about the club you love? I think you guys need to accept the fact we lost, even if it was 78 points. Every club needs a defeat and this was ours. It's only Round 2 and you're all acting like it was Round 11. Don't forget our club is young and still maturing. Give us some time and we'll get our act together and win by 78 points.

Stop this negativity. I think we should make a new forum called TalkingNegatively. Then you people can go there and talk. No point talking about it here.

Why is Lance playing with his knee injury. He should be rested. 2005 he played Fev injured, 2006 Stevens. They're not going to perform......rest them.

Lance isn't going to find form, fitness or match fitness by resting. Pagan is right, we need to play him through this rough patch.

Scotland has been guilty of cheap possies but has improved...he took a brave mark running back with the flight of the ball and put the body on the line, something you dont associate with his style of play.
Was one of our best and did keep trying.......well worth his spot.

Whitnall was hopeless and should have been taken off and kept off and should be dropped this week....The pace of the game is just too much for Lance and he is like an outdated car that needs to be classed as a collectors item and garaged...

While Houlihan remains in our supposed best 22 we wont get anywhere.....
I have said it all before about the way he plays and been howled down so I am glad others are starting to see what I see...like Whitnall we should have traded him while he had some worth.....
Simon Wiggins cops plenty of flak from supporters but I would have him in my team ahead of Houlihan every week....Wiggins gives you a honest contest and plays with passion and urgency....

Come on, Scotland is a disgrace. He gets so many cheap possessions, by simply screaming for the footy and then screaming at our players if they don't give it to him. I actually think it compromises the team the way he plays. I'd much rather those possessions go to a Murphy, or a Bentick, or a Gibbs. In his first year at Carlton, 2004 Scotland went in and got his own ball. He is now a campo type player. Campo used to get a heap of possessions, Scotland = new campo. I'd much rather see a Grigg or a Blackwell play in his place.
