I realise the idea probably sounds ridiculous and suicidal but do we really want to continue down the road of playing players who are obviously injured and force them to carry it through out the season? It killed Nick Stevens last year and it killed Fev the year before that. Do we really want our most important player injecting so much painkilling drugs into his leg that he can no longer kick straight? I say that if Fev has a problem with his knee, an injury that can be corrected through rest or minor surgery, then we should let him have that rest and get his fit and firing for matches down the road where he can once again be the difference between winning and losing. |

nope not now - we're on a roll - this is a must win game - people can still right us off as pre season winners and beating richmond only in round 1 when anything can happen. Beat geelong this weekend and heads will seriously start to turn |

Rest him. I would prefer a fully fit Fevola for 15 games over an 80% fit Fevola for 22 games. He should have been rested in 2005 and Nick Stevens should have been rested last year... |

Im 50/50 on this one, he looked groggy during the 3rd quarter but then fired up again in the last. I reckon play him this week, if the effects are starting to show again, then it would be a good idea to rest him. |

Yeah I think play him this week for sure. Maybe the week after too and then if he needs a break then the Eagles game at Subi would be the ideal opportunity. Of course I don't know exactly what the problem with the knee is - one week off may do nothing to help, he may need surgery. |

Fevola is fine... he had a heap of chances and was still finding the ball well. Its only because he is normally an awesome kick that we are talking about this because he missed those 3 from the pocket. Gee he is allowed one bad day of goal kicking. His chasing and harassing when he doesnt have the footy is fantastic... heaven help us if he doesnt play |

Only thing wrong with Fev is between his ears, his chasing in the last quarter was fantastic...fair dinkum if we could somehow keep him excited for 4 quarters in every match, there would be no need for any more discussion re is he better than Lloyd, it would be fait accompli!!!! |

..yeah i agree, the fev is good to go.. ..shite, he had an ordinary day and still kicked 3.4 or something.. ..those 3 shots one after another from that pocket was strange, but not just for him.. ..richo missed from out there as well later in the game, as did a few players.. ..richo's kick especially though swung in like fev's third miss, and richo kinda looked skyward as if the wind (possible swirl?) messed with his mojo.. ..fev quickly played on to boot his first goal off a few steps, he lead well, crashed packs, chased and tackled.. ..his conversion was down is all.. ..he won't kick a bag every week, but if he keeps 3 and we think he's not playing to his best.. ..we're still doin' pretty good.. |

He should have been rested in 2005 and Nick Stevens should have been rested last year... I think we should look at resting him, but where it is convenient to do so and we can cover the loss. That is, against teams where he has struggled to get a touch in the past. The momentum from this past week and the nab cup is important to our development. Play him as a decoy at least 50% of the time and load up crumbers around him with kennedy the tall up front. |

..bahhh.. ..lloyd's good, damn good.. ..but he also had a great team around him until recently.. ..fev's been damn good for us with shite around him.. ..he's gonna out-strip lloyd by truckloads over the next few yrs.. ..and lloyd can't kick as long as accurately at the big fev.. ..hell, he's prolly the best kick in the league, and has been for a few yrs now for kicking outside 50..and pretty damn good inside it too.. |

Tough call. I don't think he's getting any better, but he didn't do anything to make it worse (going on the game - nothing else). If he's pulled up sore, I'd modify his training program (Ford's probably on it already) and see how he comes up. Wouldn't pull the trigger on it just yet. |

Ok here's the next question. Whitnall has a knee injury and is currently getting it drained almost every week (explains all the poor form huh?) Should we rest him, let him recover and then bring him back when he's fit and ready to fire? Or will it just create a big media feeding frenzy with everyone claiming we're dropping the captain? |

I think it shows how far Fev has come over the last few years. 3 years ago, if he had a bad game, he would have kicked 0, and spent plenty of time on the bench. A bad game now is 3 goals. I think most opposition teams would be happy to give Fev "only" 3. |

Or will it just create a big media feeding frenzy with everyone claiming we're dropping the captain? i used to drain fluid from my knee as well and its a pain in the arse. he is playing at 80% capacity and thats good enough |

Maybe Fev found out about Alex's spread in FHM and went troppo. That would explain his half time brain splurge. He was fit on Saturday but perfoms well based on confidence and his confidence was shot after missing so many. He still got the ball though, so that is a sight better than not sniffing it at all al la Lance. |

agree - that lead and mark and goal in the last quarter was superb - if he's 80% fit and can do that (have a look if you can - leads full tilt ball appears to be going high and he marks above his head at speed) he don't need the other 20%! |

If Fev does some serious damage to his knee we are going to look very silly. ![]() |

I will give you an answer once the club doctor and Fev confirm to me what the problem is. Can anyone actually confirm the extent if any of his injury? |
