Pagan said there are 4-5 players who wont be on the clubs next premiersdhip list? Who?

Can't imagine it being anyone unless we have retirements during this season :-D

Though players who would be forerunners to be delisted at the end of the season would be Teague, Bannister, Saddington and potentially McLaren and then factoring in possible retirements of Koutoufides and Lappin.

He's stating the bleeding obvious. Don't AFL rules state that you have to turn over at least 5 spots on your list each season?

don't have to turn over spots, just need a minimum of three draftees in national draft (in theory, which you could use to redraft delisted players)

OK thanks for the clarification.

I remember Bomber Thompson having a whinge a few years back that he didn't want to delist anyone but had to...

These are the players I believe wont be in a next premiership team:

1. Kouta (retire)
2. Lappin (retire)
3. Teague
4. Bannister
5. McLaren
6. Saddington

7. Whitnall
8. Wiggins
9. Young

This is the coach I believe wont be in a next premiership team:

Pagan

Good call Bondi. I'm thinking B.Ratten will take us to number 17

Teague, Bannister, Saddington and McLaren surely. They are mid age, mediocre at best, and haven't had a look in at all in 2007.

Just in regard to everyone thinking that Matthew Lappin is thinking about retirement...he's not - I've spoken to him about this - he honestly thinks his body is in really good nick and sees himself as a bit of a Tuck/Bradley cross.

I have a similar build to Matty - and this discussion was over a parma and a few pots at the Spread Eagle - but I'm a touch older and I warned him that it's only a matter of time. His recent tours of Ireland have a lot of merit towards his argument; but to date (NAB and Rnd.1) I've been really happy with Pagan using him sparingly across half back and on the pine. It might be just the tonic to see him lengthen his career, if only by a year.

Teague, Bannister, Saddington, Dilbert and maybe guys like Raso and even Harts.

Don't wanna see Harts go but he is only on a 1 year contract and needs to do something this year. Yes he has had a run of bad luck, much like Raso but with so many young players really pushing these guys they need to do something this year to show they are worth the spot.

I'd be super disappointed if Raso got the arse with barely a senior bullants game to his name.

He's had to work doubly hard to get to where he is now than most other players and he's highly talented. Really looking forward to how he stacks up later on this year.

Yeah he has had to work damn hard, but late last year when he was playing Bullant's 1st, I thought he looked alil lost.

It's becoming crunch time for players on our list.
Raso & Harts have had there time on the list and once again I know lady luck really hasn't helped them to much but with talent coming through and new draft picks at the end of the year, it's not looking to good for them.

Don't get me wrong Doc, I am a huge fan of Lappin, and I don't think he should retire at the end of the year for the reasons you give. I believe this guy has smarts, class and trains really well. He can play forward, back and midfield. He's an AA. His time trials around Princess Park are at an elite level, so fitness isn't an issue in 2007-8, but I must say he will get older and slower overtime.

I am assuming that the next Flag will be anywhere after 2009, and I dare say that Lappin and Kouta will have retired by then. If not it's because the MC believe they still offer value to the team.

I'd put money on that Kouta will not be around in 2009.

after this lot retires/delisted... there won't be much to cull..interesting times ahead.

considering every team requires to turn over minimum of five players each year...'08 draft will be very interesting....

players like raso, flint, edwards, hartlett etc would be feeling abit edgy if they dont get game time second half of this year..

McLaren is an interesting one - i wonder if he will get a chance at all really to show what he has.

1. Murphy
2. Gibbs
3. Walker
4. Kennedy
5. Simpson

All 5 will be offered for mature age players.

Oh wait this is 2007 not 1997 isnt it.
