Wayne Harmes was an exceptional footballer and one can a vote right now on the AFL website regarding the most memorable moments in the game. (ie the tap in from the boundary line in 79) I would encourage all Carlton fans to put a vote in for Harmesy. The tap in was the greatest moment in grand final history - only slightly better than Jezza's mark. Cast a vote for the old man. At the same time it would be great if they had a voting competition over at AFL headquarters on Matthew Lloyd. (Did anyone catch his dive against Geelong that resulted in yet another goal for the Shakespearan actor?) I recommend everyone to have a look, so one could see how much better he would be on Ramsay Street than in the AFL. I would like to see it as follows: vote on how many goals Lloyd will get this year for, "being pushed in the back" vote on how many guys he will clean up with his elbow/lower arm while looking the other way. (Again drawing on his immense acting skills) My guess for the year is 20 goals from free kicks and 3 guys cleaned up by Lloyd while he accidently shoves an elbow in their face. p.s don't get me wrong. Lloyd is a great AFL talent. Great skills etc but his legacy in the game will be tainted by his antics that are outside the spirit of the game. If anyone else is willing to cast a vote on this website regarding Lloyd let me know. We could have it as a proper betting comp. |

Good on ya Camelboy. SMS "diver" or "actor" if you want to enter the Matthew Lloyd competition. I have seen many of Lloyd's dives over the years, but this was by far his best one. From one "push" from Scarlett he ended up 3 metres away from the contest. Well done Matt. The umpires fall for it every time. |

I don't know where I heard it maybe "Before the Game", but someone said for such a great actor on the field. How come his performance in the AFL Experience ad is so wooden. He really is a terrible actor. |

Yeah, good point Wildman. In all honesty, though, what he does is blatant cheating - that free kick he got in the final quarter was a disgrace. I just can't understand why umpires keep falling for the same tricks. I can't watch another Essendon* game for the rest of the year - his blatant cheating is just too much for me to take. (Well done The Vet on casting a vote too.) |
