This is something that really annoys me and I raise this every year with Pagan. WHY DOES IT TAKE HIM 4-5 MINS EVERY 1/4 AND 3/4 QTR TIME TO GET TO THE HUDDLE?????????? Especially Qtr time tonight!! It looks so unprofessional, pathethic, lazy, laconic, arrogant!!! If he can't haul his arse there in decent time at least send one of his assistants. Even Ratts and Bradley were quite late to the huddle. Our lame 2nd qtr started with the lame effort of our coaching staff at Qtr time IMO. FFS DP get off your butt and show some professionalism!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Well Wallet went out early and talked to his player for a minute or two and then the subordinates talked to the forwards mids and backs. With Pagan it is the opposite. Subs then main! What is the big deal? Who won? |

We won tonight ......... i'll give you that Jarusa but it just looks pathetic. I was in the members wing and everyone within earshot noticed it and was talking about it. It looks pathetic!!!! Yes Wallace was actually waiting for them ready to go. It shows intensity and sends the right signal. We won tonight but we are the worst performing side since the current 16 team comp - do we want to keep that way??? |

Yeah, picks 1 and 2 would be great, but this win makes it pretty difficult. ![]() Don't think the timing of coaching speeches at 1QTR and 3QTR time make a difference. |

nope, as Jarusa said..we won...we arent keeping it that way haha i'd base decisions towards Pagan on the decisions made in the game (eg, Moving Waite forward changed the game i think) if, for example we played Sydney and Barry Hall kicked 8 goals on O'Hailpin and Pagan didnt make a change then there'd be time for criticism, but i think he made some good moves tonight so i'll keep his back. The assistants always talk to the them in their groups first. Then they all come together and get addressed by Pagan. Why does he need to be out there straight away? |

Yeah i agree BlueWorld but even the assistants were very late - and it happens a lot!! Next time you are there live just have a look and see what you think. |

It take Pagan so long to come down so it give the players time to calm down and relax a bit plus it give them time to have their drinks or oranges before he will talk to them, Parkin done this all the time that he was coaching Carlton. |

I'd much prefer a coach who thought about match-ups, what to say to motivate his players, what to instruct to improve performance, etc then to blindly run out and say the first thing that comes to mind. I'm not the biggest Pagan fan, but you can't bag him for that. It's petty and irrelevant. |

I always hated that about Pagan - sometimes he'd turn up to address the players with seconds remaining. But that was then. Now - even when the subbies are running a little late, the players are taking matters in their own hand. They're showing ownership of their own leadership roles. Then the subbies come in and focus on their lines. And finally, the general joins the fray and ties is all together. Now that we have the right players in the leadership group, the right assistant coaches, and the right coach, by the time it gets to Pagan, he can spend his time punching the message in. Speaking last leaves the words ringing by the time the siren sounds. |

Hasn't he had a hip replacement or something? Perhaps he can't actually walk any quicker? |

Just between you and me Pickle I would prefer it if Pagan was just sitting in the stand ![]() |

Perhaps the coaches need a few minutes in the box at the end of the quarter to discuss possible tactics? I'm sure it's difficult for them to do so in detail while the game is on? |

Why can't we just support the coach. Been through hell last year, and credit to him, he has since done all the right things with this team. Give him a break. |

And that's saying something. Don't agree. It does look ordinary the way Pagan wonders out to the huddle but he needs time to sort his thoughts. I'd think only a small percentage of footy followers even look at the huddle and its relevant dynamics. Personally I'm much happier nowdays with the assistants that are doing their thing before Pagan addresses the team. Perhaps the longer Pagan takes, the better we will be? |
